I’m going to have to apologise in advance, this is going to be one of the longer posts I do. There were 7 season finals and 2 of those were double episodes, but I’ll try and condense it as much as I can, as well give my opinions on them. Most of the finals were good, and I will admit, there was definitely some tears shed on my behalf but you’ll be able to tell which shows made me sob like a little baby. Here we go:
Game of Thrones E04
Oh sweet baby Jesus, I wept tears of joy! Have characters ever been happy on this show? No. Did we get a glimpse of happiness when Sansa makes it to Castle Black to meet Jon and they have the most beautiful reunion ever? YES! Episode 4 was a pretty happy episode actually not TOOO many deaths, a few happy moments and bad-ass Dany makes a comeback:
- Castle Black: Sansa, Brienne and Pod make it to Castle Black and Jon and Sansa catch up on everything that’s happened to them since they parted ways in season 1. Sansa’s been raped, Jon’s been dead, it’s heavy stuff. Also – I’m totally shipping Brienne and Tormund, his attempt at sex eyes while eating a hunk of bread is so cring worthy, I was reminded of someone… me! At the end, Jon gets a letter from Ramsay saying that he’ll kill Rick if he doesn’t bring Sansa back to him, and Sansa convinces Jon that it’s their fight now, they have to take back Winterfell with the Wildings and Stark Bannermen helping 🙂
- The Eyrie: We get to see pathetic little Robin Arryn again and his step father Littlefinger as they plan to save his cousin Sansa by joining The Frey’s (yea, don’t do that, that’s never a good idea…) Also, every time I see Robin, I think of this hehe:
- Meereen: Tyrion comes up with an arrangement with the Masters of the Yunkai, Astapor and Volantis tp abolist slavery over 7 years, where they will be compensated for their “losses” in exchange for cutting off their funds to the Sons of Harpy. Missandei and Grey Worm don’t agree with Tyrion, but hesitantly take his side when he’s trying to convince the freed slaves in Meereen. Tyrion’s a smart guy, trust him he knows what he’s doing.
- King’s Landing: The High Sparrow and Margaery talk and he takes her to see Loras who’s compeltely defeated and wants to confess to everything to make it all stop. Meanwhile,Cersei finds out from Tommen that the High Sparrow intends to make Margaery do the Walk of Shame Shame Shame and so Cersei tells Olena Tyrell to use her army to stop the church and Marg’s walk. As much as I hate Cersei, I can’t wait to see her and old lady Tyrell just shout at some men and own them.
- Iron Islands: Theon comes home to a furious sister and a dead father, but says that he wants her to rule the Iron Islands and will help her where he can (and maybe get her help to join Jon and kill Ramsay? Revenge!)
- Winterfell: Ramsay kills Osha because he knows she was the one who helped Rickon escape from Theon. ‘Nuff said, he had no reason to keep her.
- Dothraki Sea: Daario and Jorah exchange old jokes, infiltrate the Dothraki settlement with no weapons and find Dany in the Dosh Khaleen with the other widows. Dany is then taken to the council and she tells the she wants to rule the Dothraki to which they respond with telling her that they’ll treat her like a whore, and she responds with burning them all alive in the temple. Of course, she’s Daenerys Stormborn The Unburnt, and she emerges from the flames like she did in Season 1, naked but dragon-less, LIKE THE QUEEN SHE IS! When will the Dothraki learn???
Once Upon a Time E22 & 23 (Season Finale)
I have so many notes on these two episodes, I don’t know where to start so I’m going to try and give you the basics of the episode because I had a few issues with the story. We get to see the Land of Untold Stories and meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Henry removes all the magic from the world but then has to get everyone to start “believing” in magic again, Rumple is a dick and Regina is going through some serious stuff when she realises that she will never be able to escape the Evil Queen. Now, first, props to Lana Parrilla again for giving an awesome performance of Regina, you really feel the pain she goes through every time her love dies and she just cannot get away from what she has done. At the end of the episode, Snow uses a serum to separate Regina from her Evil Queen alter ego, and she destroys the Evil Queen… or does she????? Secondly – can the writers please decide if they want to make Henry an adult or a child?? It’s frustrating to see them take a boy to the UNDERWORLD and try to survive it, but then have him treated like a child the rest of the time. And I have a huuuuuuge issue with the scene involving Henry talking to a group of strangers in NYC asking them to believe in magic. No way in Gods green Earth would 50 something people throw coins into a fountain and “wish” for magic just because a teenage kid told them! If this was really New York, someone would call the cops and another person would ask Henry where he gets his drugs from. And lastly, the writers are just regurgitating what they’ve done in the last 5 seasons and there is zero character development going on in terms of trusting people! Not once has Rumple proven himself trustworthy, so why the HELL would you keep trusting him?! Hook, Regina and Zelena have all shown that they can grow, clearly this man cannot! ABC has gone through a scrub through of their shows and culled a few this month, I can only hope they realise that Once Upon a Time has reached its peak and is slowly declining and gracefully cancel the show next season.
Castle E22 (Series Finale)
So as I mentioned last week, ABC decided to cancel Castle last week and this week was the season final episode, and I was very aware that they’ll either leave it as a season end cliffhanger or end the series really badly. But you know what? They did it pretty well. The team hatch a plan to catch Loksat’s accountant using Caleb as bait, but when they find Caleb’s dead body, they realise that it was all a trap. Castle and Beckett are rescued just in time by Mason Wood, one of the detectives that Castle met in LA whilst on the Greatest Detective Society case, who is in touch with Castle’s step-mother. Anyway, the case continues, and Castle is caught, given a truth serum and interrogated by Loksat, who turns out to be Mason himself. He was involved in stuff with the CIA and needed to know who knew about him so gets Castle tell him everything. By the end of the episode, Beckett figures it all out and both her and Castle catch and arrest Mason, opening up an investigation into the CIA and their operations. All is going smoothly and everyone is safe, until a very much alive Caleb returns to their apartment and shoots them both, before being off-ed by Beckett. At this point, I’m going “no no no no you can’t kill them BOTH off!” and I reckon that if the series was to be continued, the episode would have ended on that cliffhanger. However, we got a lovely “7 years later” moment where we see a very happy Caskett enjoying breakfast with their 3 lovely children, all safe and sound. The. End. Thank you to Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Molly Quinn, Tamala Jones, Seamus Driver, Jon Huertas and Susan Sullivan for giving the fans a funny, emotional and action packed series from start to finish and keeping us entertained for 8 solid years. You will be missed ❤
Quantico E22 (Season Finale)
I have a stackload of notes from this episode, but when I look back on it, it really wasn’t that complicated. In the flashbacks, everyone gets ready for graduation and Alex and Ryan break up because once again, Alex finds out that Ryan is lying about going to DC, he’s heading to Texas. Shelby still hates everyone and decides to ruin Caleb’s graduation by telling his mum what he’s been up to (which of course, is the wrong side of the story) and Miranda says goodbye to the twins but is unable to attend the ceremony. In the present, we get a 4 minute montage showing Liam sabotaging Alex from the minute he gets the job at Quantico, which I think was a really good way of showing what he’s done and how he’s done it.Meanwhile, he’s kidnapped Miranda and starts to lead the team to find her and the bomb. But the team is too smart for him, they discover discrepancies in his story and Miranda’s timeline doesn’t match up to when the Voice calls Alex and Shelby. Ryan goes after Liam but is kidnapped as well, and Alex discovers that Liam is the terrorist after meeting his daughter. They guess that because he’s trying to topple the FBI and the best way to do that is to bomb the graduation ceremony taking place, so they all get to Quantico. They find Ryan and a barely alive Miranda and Ryan, and Alex finds Liam and the bomb. He rants about how he hated the FBI for making him lie and cover up for people and how he was trying to get Alex to quit the FBI so he can frame her for being angry with the FBI and all that. Alex has NONE of it and goes in for the kill shot, shooting Liam, saving Ryan and finding the bomb as well. But what the hell are the team going to do with the bomb?! They can’t detonate it safely, nor can they evacuate the building, and while they’re arguing, Simon grabs the bomb, and drives off with it towards a body of water. He says his goodbyes to everyone explaining the guilt he felt for denotating the second bomb and designing this one, and at the last second, goes off a bridge and the bomb goes off safely in the water, saving everyone. Tears. Tears everywhere.
Now here’s the rubbin’. Remember that box of blood pressure pills that the Voice tells Alex to switch out from Claires handbag? Well turns out, Claire doesn’t have a blood pressure problem, which leads Alex to confront the now Vice President at Simon’s funeral. She says that with Liam destroying the FBI with Claire and blaming Alex, they would together rebuild the FBI with Liam leading. But after declaring Alex a hero, Liam goes off on his own feeling betrayed by his partner in crime. Claire asks for proof, Alex has none, but Caleb has just heard everything and Claire knows she has to look out. Any way, Miranda is the Deputy Director now and reinstates Shelby, but unfortunately Alex gets the boot, giving her the opportunity to go and spend time with Ryan and return to her mum in Oakland – but only for 2 months. She gets a surprise visit from Matthew Keyes in the CIA and is asked to join, but the offer only stands for a minute, then it’s gone. I was wondering how they would continue the story seeing as she’s not in Quantico anymore, but I guess Shonda Rhimes will think of something. That was a pretty good first season, let’s see how they continue the story in season 2!
NCIS E24 (Season Finale)
Nothing else matters in this episode except that:
1. Ziva dies.
2. There’s a little baby Tiva called Tali.
3. Tony leaves NCIS to be with his daughter.
Now that I’ve said that, can you imagine the tears that were flowing down my face the entire 40 minute episode?! First, we went through the pain of watching Tony deal with Ziva’s death. Then the head of the Moussad brings Ziva’s daughter, Tali, into NCIS and says that Tony is the father, but Ziva didn’t want to interrupt the life that he had here and was independent enough to look after her own daughter. And THEN, Tony realises that Tali knows exactly who he is and knows that for the rest of his life, all he wants to do is be with her and love her forever. And lastly, possibly the most beautiful scene was watching Gibbs and Tony part ways in Gibb’s basement, I’m tearing up just thinking about it now. Oh and just as a side note, they catch Trent Kort (killer of Ziva and just all round bad guy) and he tries to shoot his way out of an arrest, only to be shot multiple times my Tony, Gibbs, McGee, Bishop, FBI Agent Tess Monroe and MI6 agent Clayton Reeves – revenge is sweeeeeeeeet! It was a lovely season final, and I can’t wait to see how the team functions next season without Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo. Michael Weatherly, thank you for being such an amazing person and creating such a diverse and deep character for the last 13 years. Watching Tony DiNozzo develop over the last decade has been truely amazing and you deserve all the credit, the fans wish you all the best in the future ❤
Agents of SHIELD E21 & 22 (Season Finale)
God damn more tears! This was a double episode and really, it will take me about a day to type up everything that happened so I’ll try and condense. From Daisy’s intel the team finds the nuclear missile, disconnect the warhead but Hive manages to escape with it. However, Mack manages to create a device that kinda, scrabbles Hive’s mind, making the memories of his victims intermingle with his actual self, giving us a weakened and vulnerable evil alien. Daisy is still coming to terms with what she did while under Hive’s control and the only one who helps her is Mack, what a beautiful chocolate man. But what the team realise is that Daisy has told Hive everything, including the high altitude capabilities of the Zephyr so Hive plants a box in the base hanger, releasing Dr Radcliffe’s creation onto SHIELD agents, and converting them into the “primitives” or Hive’s minions. Anyway, the minions almost kill Fitz but the team doesn’t realise that Daisy has made her way back to the Zephyr and begs Hive to take her back because she can’t deal with the pain – WHAT ARE YOU DOING MATE?! Anyway, thanks to Lash, Daisy becomes impervious to Hive’s parasites and can’t be controlled so she tries to kill him but is stopped by James who rescues Hive, takes Daisy and gets the Zephyr going. The team has 31 mins to get the warhead to safety and a lot of complications happen so the main thing you need to know is everyone gets on the Zephyr but an injured Lincoln and Hive end up on the Quinjet with the war head, and Lincoln flies the Quinjet into space and the team watches it blow up safely, killing Lincoln and Hive but saving millions as well. Watching Daisy completely breakdown was so heartbreaking but at the end of the episode we see Coulson, no longer the Director of SHIELD, and Mack tracking her down but she evades them and runs away – but WHYYYYYY? And at the end we see Dr Radcliffe create an AI called Aida – is this going to be another Ultron type situation? Have we not learned from Stark’s mistakes????!!!
Legends of Tomorrow E16 (Season Finale)
Alrighty, so now that there is no Occulus or controlling Time Masters, Rip drops everyone back in Star City in May 2016 (Sara finds out about Laurel and oh my god, the tears). But the team just aren’t having it and manage to call back the Waverider and get a message from Kendra through time to come get her in France in 1944. They find her and trry to rescue her and Carter, but Savage takes her away and they figure out Savage’s plan. He wants to destroy time itself and return back to the first major change in history, back in 2000 BC when the first meteor hit Egypt. In order to do so, he needs to be with the meteor in three different times (1958, 1975 and 2021) and detonate all three at the same time. And thanks to time travel, he can now do this but mwahahahaha the team has the Waverider and stop him! And what Savage doesn’t realise is that while the meteors are “loading” so to speak, he becomes immortal, allow the team to kill him three times 🙂 One meteor can’t be destroyed, so Rip sacrificies himself to go dropit into the sun, but come on, he’s a Time Master, so he just time jumps after dropping it and all is well! Now that Savage is gone and the Time Masters can’t manipulate time, Rip asks the team to help him simply protect the timeline, which they all do, except Carter and Kendra who decide to go and be happy together. But just when things are going well, MIKE ROSS from Suits appears! Lol jokes, the actor, Patrick J Adams comes in as Rex Tyler,a member of the Justice Society of America, and he’s come to save our Legends. Now I assume you’re all thinking “Justice Society of America? Surely, that’s the Justice League of America, right?” And you are right. The Justice Society of America is the precursor to the famous superhero team up we know and Rex Tyler is Hourman, so looks like Season 2 is going to get a WHOLE lot bigger!!!!
The 100 E16 (Season Finale)
Season finale and all you really need to know is that they defeat Allie, everyone comes to their senses and they’re set up season 4 really well. Because Ontari is dying, Clarke hatches a genius plan to get Abby to give her a blood transfusion exchanging her blood for the Black blood, and then put the Flame in her so she can go into the City of Lights, kind Allie’s kill switch and shut her down. She gets some help from Lexa and Raven in the City, while Murphy, Abby, Bellamy, Pike, Octavia and the gang protect her body and make sure the blood is still flowing. In the end, she meets Becca and Allie but pulls the trigger on Allie but not before finding out that all the remaining nuclear plants on Earth have started to melt and the humans have only 6 months until Earth is uninhabitable. Poor old Clarke gets back to her body, sees half her friends beaten up and the other half crying, and looks and Bellamy and doesn’t even have good news to tell him. These guys cannot catch a break, I’d love to see how they get out of the next mess in season 4!
Supernatural E22 (Witches, demons, angels, Rowena, Crowley, Lucifer, Cas, Sam, Dean and God all get together to defeat Amara, they fail, Lucifer dies, Sam has the Mark and God is almost dead. Shit.), The Flash E22 (Zoom uses Laurel Lance’s doppleganger, Black Siren, to keep Barry busy and the team finds a way to capture all the metahumans at once. But then Zoom does the unthinkable when he kills Henry in front of Barry to try and make him more like Zoom. HOLY SHIT I DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING, TEARS EVERYWHERE! But to be honest, I was secretly happy it wasn’t Joe, he’s been more of a father to Barry than Henry will ever be (not his fault though) and I think Barry would be worse off without Joe 😦 ), Bones E16 (Aubrey used to be in an acapella group and the Pentatonix make a guest appearance), Arrow E22 (Felicity, Curtis and Noah manage to get Rubicon offline, Oli and Diggle get into the Ark to find a drugged Thea, defeat Machin but not before he kills Ruve. Oli and Diggle manage to save everyone in the Ark before it collapses on itself but Darhk comes to Felicity’s house to seek revenge for his wifes death )
