7 Years Later…

Hola amigos! This was another quiet-ish week, I’m finding that different channels are taking different breaks all over the place, which makes my life easier, because I don’t have a bazillion shows to watch every week. In terms of updates – Fox has announced that the next season of Bones (season 12) will be the last season and we will be saying goodbye to the amazing chemistry that is Booth and Brennan and all the team at the Jeffersonian. As sad as I am that they’re ending it, I think their time has come and all the characters are at stages of their lives that the writers can end the show well. On another note, if you live in Australia, I highly recommend watching the new show on Channel 9 called Here Come the Habibs (if you’re not in Australia, I’m sure you’re smart enough to find a way 😉 ) After three episodes, I think this is an absolutely hilarious, tears-rolling-down-my-cheeks, falling-off-the-couch show. Some people are saying that it’s racist, rude and stereotypical, but you know what? It really doesn’t matter because that’s the point of the show, just take it as it is and have a good laugh!

NCIS: LA E16
WE FINALLY FIND OUT CALLEN’S NAME!jennifer lawrence excited omg

And it was well worth the wait 😀 Carrying on from the last episode, Sam, Anna and G go to Russia and go and rescue Arkady Kolcheck and a CIA operative from a jail under a strict time schedule to avoid causing an international incident. Things don’t go exactly to plan but they end up at a CIA safe house being run by an old man called Garrison – and the minute you look at him, you know that something is up with him. He’s way to comfortable with the crew and looks at G like he knows him – ding ding ding, that’s his father! Just before they are to leave Russia with everyone in tow and alive, G and Garrison have a few minutes to themselves to discuss their relationship, and Garrison tells him he knows all about his son and is proud that he is a good man. He also calls G Grisha (which is the equivalent of Gregory in Russian) and tells him that his name is Grisha Alexandrovich Nikolaev and with the hope that they will meet again and learn more about each other. A few other things happen in the episode, but to be honest, I couldn’t give a damn because, as the title suggests, I waited way too long for this moment to happen 🙂

Castle E12
This episode totally freaked me out but intrigued me at the same time. As a science student that studied psychology courses at uni, it was an interesting case that involved parents that tested their twin children with various techniques to study separation anxiety – making their daughter kill herself and the son withdrawn and mentally unstable. Anyway, the case was interesting and Castle and Beckett were thrown into the deep end with a range of scenarios and different people to deal with and we saw again, how mature and responsible Alexis can be in times where her Dad is in trouble or not so mature. Plus, I love her hair ❀

Agent Carter E08 & E09
Can Peggy and Daniel just get together already, I cannot take all the stares and sexual tension anymore! Just kiss already!
kiss tangled aww now kiss vladimir

This was another two episode joy ride, but wasn’t as complicated as last week. Wilkes and Whitney talk about experimenting on each other to find out about Zero Matter and she is told by the Zero Matter that she needs the uranium rods to recreate the explosion that caused the initial Zero Matter rift to open (she’s hearing voices that Wilkes isn’t – creepy, I know) In the meantime, Anna wakes up and Jarvis learns she can never have children and Peggy, Sousa and Jarvis decide to exchange fake uranium rods for Wilkes’ life. BUUUUUUUT the exchange goes wrong and Wilkes holds a gun to Peggy’s head demanding Sousa to tell him where the real rods are kept, making the most of Sousa’s feelings for her, that sneaky two timing bastard! Sousa tells him that the rods are at the SSR, Wilkes tells Whitney, Whitney tells Masters (You can see where this is going
) BUUUUUUT welcome Jack Thompson, who finally gets his head screwed on properly, and confronts Masters stealing the rods, only to have his memories erased and gets found by Sousa and Peggy. In the end, Whitney manages to open the Zero Matter rift, Wilkes disappear into it, the team uses a Gamma ray gun to close the rift, Wilkes is left behind – oh and Jarvis shoots Whitney in his anger, she survives but then kidnaps Peggy and Jarvis. And that was episode 8.

Episode 9 opens with a lovely musical number, which was Peggy’s hallucinations, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone sing and dance a little. Whitney decides to operate/experiment on Wilkes who knows he’s ticking time bomb ready to explode, after Peggy and Jarvis have escaped their kidnappers and started their journey home. Peggy makes Jarvis go and spend time with this wife, while Jack tells Masters that he should meet with Whitney and use the Gamma gun to kill her BUUUUUUT he double crosses Masters and tells Whitney their plan and that she should kill him when he comes in exchange for a spot on the Council. Peggy punches Masters, and their all kind of on the same side but unknown to anyone, Jack has turned the Gamma gun into a Gamma bomb and intends to blow it up both Masters and Whitney – and doesn’t care that an innocent Wilkes is in the same place and would die as well. But Sousa and the lab tech guy disarm the bomb, much to Jack’s disappointment and Peggy fails in saving Wilkes, with the episode ending with the Zero Matter in Wilkes exploding out of him. Now the issue is that next week is the finale of the season for a whole year, which means that there is a lot that needs to be covered next week and I have too many questions that need to be answered in a 45 minute episode, I CAN’T WAIT!

NCIS E16
Man, you really feel for Tony in this episode, it’s just a very nostalgic episode and plenty of old memories are brought up. Dr Taft and Jeanne come back in a case involved stolen guns and the case comes around to Le Grenioulle and Tony and Jeanne’s past. It was a pretty good episode, and we also get the opportunity to see a close relationship developing between Gibbs and Taft – it’s high time that Gibbs has a friend.

Suits E15
Harvey and Mike have zero faith in themselves and the case that they put up to free Mike, need Donna and Rachel to grow a pair and Louis has a freak out! By the end of the episode, Gibbs has gotten into Mike’s head to take a deal, but keep in mind that next week is the season finale, so I’d be happy to see how this all plays out. Also, it’s been 5 years, and I just feel like this show is coming to an end, I hope they don’t drag it out unnecessarily!

The 100 E06
There were three main scenarios going on this episode, so I’m going to try and summarise it quickly, because tbh, the episode was a bit meh and I found myself reaching for my phone to plan Candy Crush on :/ It was heavy on information and talking and light on the action, at least that’s what I found

  1. Emmerson (the last Mountain-man) is delivered to the Capital and Lexa leaves it to Clarke to decide if they want to kill him or not. Funnily enough, when it comes to avenging the Grounders, Clarke is all “blood must not have blood”, but the minute it’s her own avenging happening, she’s all “yes, let’s kill him, he’s a bad guy” – Thankfully she comes to her senses and banishes him from the land.
  2. Kane bugs Pike’s meeting room and overhear him making plans to eliminate an entire Grounder village in order to use their land to grow crops. Octavia goes to warn the village, instead gets captured and the village creates a trap for Bellamy and his village-extinguishing posse, all but one survive. Pike realises that Kane is a traitor and asks his lapdog Bellamy to find proof (I’m starting to think that Bellamy and Jack Thompson from Agent Carter are cut from the same cloth: easily influenced and shit really needs to hit the fan before they realise they’re on the wrong side)
  3. Raven is cured of all her pain when she has the pill that Jaha gives her, Jasper wants to do the same and Abby is just a little bit concerned as to how the pill works, which is totally understandable. But her assistant, Jackson has taken the mystery magic pill and is on Jaha’s side :/ Anyway, ALIE wants to find the program to upgrade her system, uses Raven to get to it and discovers that there was another section (Section 13) that was not sent up to the Arc, and that section is somewhere on the ground (Hint: With the Grounders) and has the upgrades ALIE needs to – take over the world?!

I don’t know how I feel about the show anymore, it’s not what it started out as, and I haven’t decided if I like these changes or not…

How to Get Away with Murder E12
AH the ending, the ending! Ok so again, if you don’t want spoilers, skip on down past the gif of a shocked Pumba. Alright, the rest of you, man that was a good episode! In the past, we see very preggers Annalise convinces Rose to be a witness for her in the defense of Charles the murdering fiancĂ©. However, on the day of the trial, Rose doesn’t appear to testify, causing the case to fall apart and Annalise returning to Rose to confront her. At the end of that scene, Rose shouts at Christophe and his expression is… not an average angry child face. Meanwhile, Philip Jesup demands $1mil from the team or he’ll send the video incriminating them to the police. Everyone spends the entire episode freaking out, except Wes and Laurel who go to Cleveland to have a look at the case Rose was involved in. In Cleveland, they get super close and finally hook up (actually the first time members of the Keating-5 have hooked up, they lasted almost 2 seasons!) but Laurel discovers something about the case and doesn’t tell Wes. Back in Philly, the team spend a night living their lives (ie. having sex with their respective others), ignore the deadline and discover that Philip is stalking the Keating house. And then enter Laurel, who demands to speak to Annalise about a document that states that Christophe/Wes is the primary suspect in the death of this mum and the scene cuts to a dying Rose on the floor with a Christophe holding a bloody knife – HOLY SHIT WHAT?! DID WES ACTUALLY KILL HIS MOTHER BECAUSE SHE TOLD HIM TO GO TO BED?! WHAT WHAT WHAT?! what omg shocked wut wat

The Flash E15
So after Jay’s “death”, everyone is super emotional and on edge and I can see why, but it got a bit much after the 10 minutes. Harry tells Cisco and Barry not to talk about what happened on Earth-2 but that’s pretty hard considering one saw his best friend as n evil Meta and the other saw his father figure die in front of him. Whilst all this emotional turmoil is going on, Diggle and Lyla (the new Director of ARGUS) visit Central City because King Shark has escaped and is still after The Flash, Wally and Barry are trying to deal with their relationship and Caitlin is slowly turning into Killer Frost. There are some seriously good special effects and computerizations going on between The Flash and King Shark’s but the clincher for the episode comes riiiiiight at the end. If you haven’t seen the episode, please skip ahead to the Arrow section, because there are spoilers up ahead:

ZOOM IS JAY! Well, not exactly, I don’t really know, but once Zoom comes through the breach back to Earth-2 with a dead Jay in his grips, he takes his mask off and has Jay’s face! The thing is with this show, you just can’t guess anything that’s going to happen because there’s alternate universes and time travel and anything is possible. Safe to say, my mind was blown, but now we have to wait till March 22 to get the next episode – damn you writers!television no brooklyn nine nine chelsea peretti thumbs down

Arrow E15
Darhk reveals that he’s kidnapped William and wants Olli to step down from his Mayoral campaign and endorse Ruvé – and oh look, everyone knows about William now. Including Felicity. Who should have been one of the first people but oh well. Team Arrow have no idea where he is so they ask Vixen’s help. For all those out there that aren’t in touch with their comic book side (like me), she’s another DC superhero that uses a totem/necklace to “channel the spirit of any animal” which means that she can channel a gorilla and become super strong etc. Anyway, she locates Will, and of course Darhk beats them, so they decide to steal HIS totem that his giving his magic and destroy it. All in all, the team gets William back (he’s now a huge fan of the Green Arrow, stuff The Flash), they destroy Darhk’s magic, Thea is furious at Malcolm for being a jerk dad and telling Darhk about William, Samantha takes William far away and Olli makes him a video for his 18th birthday. BUT then, Felicity leaves Olli. And you know what the funny/awkward/ironic thing is? She has the microchip in her that would help her walk and just as she leaves her engagement ring on the table in front of Ollie, she regains the use of her legs, gets off her wheelchair and literally struts out of the apartment. Mum and I just looked at each other and shook out heads – one cannot simply be wheelchair bound for months and then get up and walk away, no matter what kind of high tech shit you got in you!

Legends of Tomorrow E06
Ok, first things first. I understand that Stephen Amell is a beautiful man (let’s be honest, he’s the reason I started watching Arrow), and it is hard to hide his natural gorgeousness but the makeup team really needs to get their shit together! In Arrow, we had to deal with three years of his terrible wigs in the flashbacks and in this episode, we had to watch him as an old man with one arm and let’s be honest, when you see what they’ve done to Olli, no one believes it. Ok rant over – this was a pretty cool episode which saw the team in Star City 2046 – the Green Arrow is John Diggle Jr (aka Connor Hawke), Deathstroke is Grant Wilson (son of Slade Wilson), everyone has left Star City, including Felicity and Smoak Enterprises but didn’t take everything with her. In order to save the damaged Waverider, part of the team go back to Team Arrow’s Bat-Cave to find the tech they need plus an old, one-armed Olli Queen. The team does their thing, Rory and Snart have a woring disagreement, Sara and Rip try to understand why both of them are willing to alter the timeline for their families and Palmer and Jacks fight for Kendra’s attention. In the end, all is well, Grant Wilson is killed and Star City is “safe”. It was a pretty cool episode that got more of the DC universe involved but also got you thinking about the things you would do for your friends and family.

The ones I haven’t mentioned: Scorpion E17 (Toby tells the team about him and Happy and they all fight gun-carrying, drug-transporting drones in the middle of a desert), Supernatural E15 (Sam and Dean’s childhood wrestling fantasies come to life), The Big Bang Theory E17 (It’s the 200th episode and we get to celebrate Sheldon’s birthday with a whole heap of guest stars, not as funny as I thought it would be though :/) and New Girl E08.

Hope you guys have a fantastic week, thanks for reading!

Marvel Universe Crossover and a Prison Break!

Wassup guys?! Welcome to another week of my TV adventures, where I try and avoid all social commitments so that I can sit in my pjs, eat copious amounts of chocolate and forget  the time a waiter gave my my lunch and said “Enjoy!” and I said “You too!” with a huge grin on my face.

Daredevil Season 1
Oh my god, what a fantastic show! And I’m not just saying it because I’m a sucker for Marvel shows; I’m saying this because I actually genuinely thought it was a brilliant show. I hadn’t seen the movie or known anything about it but I had heard good things about it, so I gave it a go and man, it was worth it. The show follows Matthew Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer living in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan who owns his own law firm with his best friend Franklin “Foggy” Nelson (Elden Henson) and are joined by Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) after she is involved in a cover up at her firm. Little do they know that after his accident that took his sight when he was 9, he was trained in order to use his other senses to let him “see” and he goes out at night to try and save his city – becoming known as the guy in the black mask or the Devil in Hell’s Kitchen. The villain for this season is Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and I guess he’s acted really well because you really come to despised his psychotic character, despite what happened in his past.  Anyway, I don’t want to get into the plot too much, but just know that it is written superbly, with interesting characters, coupled with the odd bit of humour and lots of dark moments. Special mention has to go to the action team, the choreographers and stuntmen. For a TV show, there is a huge amount of time spent into creating the most amazing action sequences I’ve seen on the small screen and the whole action production team deserve all the awards. My favourite scene has to be at the end of episode 2, the entire shot is taken without cutting to another camera and is in a narrow corridor with beautiful lighting and tbh, I don’t think there are many movies that can do it as well as they did. The show is on Netflix and season 2 in premiering on March 18th, and I highly recommend watching season 1 in time for the next season. Truly amazing, all the thumbs up!

thumbs up

Agent Carter E06 and E07
This week was another double episode and next week will be too, so make sure you stay on track! Things are got very interesting – the team realises that they need some zero matter to anchor Dr. Wilkes in this physical state so they devise a plan to get some of Whitney’s blood at a charity function. However, Peggy is still hurt and they know Sousa, so they decide to get kidnap Dottie from her cell at the SSR and use her. Of course, things go wrong, Whitney kills half of the council, including her husband and kidnaps the already kidnapped Dottie who sees her kill everyone. Thankfully, Peggy is able to get Whitney’s blood, but not before Masters (FBI guy) tells Jack that Peggy needs to be “taken care of” because of her insubordination. Oh and Sousa and Peggy have a “moment” and almost kissed, and when they didn’t, I may have shouted at my laptop :/

NO

In episode 7, Masters tries to torture Dottie to get information on Peggy but you know what? Dottie is just so damn cool. Look I get it, she’s a crazy, Russian killing machine, but damn, she faces torture like it’s a walk in the park. Of course she’s been trained for this, but still, there’s only so often you see a character tell the torturer that she’s done worse to herself while smiling sweetly. Anyway, in comes Whitney and uses the zero matter in her to torture and get the information she needed. Meanwhile, Wilkes designs a containment chamber from him, gets injected with the zero matter, becomes whole again and kisses Peggy. One point to the director for cutting to a shot of the Jarvis’s and both of their reactions to the kiss, it was a interesting touch – the curiosity of a woman and the politeness of a man who has been taught to show discretion and turn a blind eye to certain practices. Anyway, Whitney sets a trap for Peggy and Jarvis using Dottie as bait, however turns out its actually a ploy to get Wilkes on his own to and kidnap him so that they can use their powers together and see what they can do together. But while she’s escaping, she shoots Anna in the stomach just as Jarvis arrives back, and in the scenes after, you really see him struggle with the thought that it was his adventures that out his wife’s life in danger. For this episode, I think that they focus was Peggy and Jarvis, you get to watch him be a good friend and talk to her about his sudden love triangle, and at the end, Peggy sits with him in the hospital, offering him her friendship and support. I am truly going to be sad when this show ends.

Now I’m putting this at the end of this section because I noticed some interesting details about both Marvel shows, and the genius that goes on linking the stories together. Firstly, in Daredevil, they make reference to a Roxxon Corporation in a case Matt and Foggy are working on, which turns out, is the same company Peggy steals the uranium rods from in episode 5! And another thing, I was watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and there is a scene where Peggy talks about her husband and family, and it made me realise that we just may be able to see who she ends up marrying in Agent Carter. Man, the more I get into these shows and movies, the more hooked I get!

Castle E10 and E11
Before you say anything, yes it was a double episode so if you haven’t watched both of them yet, stop reading, go watch them and but then come back!
Ok, you’ve watched them? Good. Episode 10 showed Castle witnessing a murder 5 months ago and being called on as a witness for the prosecution, only to realise that he didn’t actually see the murderer. An interesting series events means that the defence lawyer on the case is actually someone that is involved in Beckett’s investigation of Loksat and she has to try and work with him while knowing he’s involved in something much more sinister. Episode 11 is a bit more light-hearted, Castle and Becket get involved with the Russian embassy, an over enthusiastic Nicki Heat fan and Russian Cold War spies, it’s all very James Bond J Castle also finally meets his step-mother and realises that although his father might not always be there, he does love and care about him.

Supernatural E14
So we’re back to the main issue of the season and the brothers discover that there are objects in the world that have been “touched by God” and might hold the power to killing Amara. They find out that an object like that did exist but it disappeared on a submarine back in World War II so they see if “Castiel” can take them back in time to get the object before it disappears. Anyway, Dean goes back in time, finds the object but has to use it to get back to the present time, and when he returns, him and Sam discover that “Castiel” is actually Lucifer. Time to see how this plays out…

The 100 E05
Not much happened this week on The 100, I guess they can’t really have super interesting episodes all the time. Firstly, Pike, Bellamy and their Grounder-hating posse go off and slaughter Indra’s crew of good Grounders and Lexa and Clarke find her left alive just to tell them that the Grounders are not welcome. Clarke manages to get into Arcadia to talk to Bellamy but he’s acts like a backstabbing ass and so she has to run away, with Octavia and Marcus Kane helping. Meanwhile, Lexa says that “blood will not have blood” and Jaha finds Arcadia to try and get people to come to the City of the Lights and to me, it sounds a lot like committing suicide and going to “heaven”. Anyway, the main scene that stuck with me was Pike talking to Arcadia and saying something on the lines of “We own the ground and we’re staying and the others are not welcome and they have no say”. Sounds A LOT like what people used to say when they invaded a country and ignored the indigenous people there (eg. Australia, America, Canada) – are the writers trying to make the audience think about these things, or is it just me?

How to Get Away with Murder E11
I feel like this episode was all about confessions because everyone started telling everyone everything, and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In the present, Wes gets put in the psych ward of hospital after he tells his doctor that he might just kill himself if she didn’t give him some sleeping pills. So she forces him to talk to her and he talks about his mothers suicide. Meanwhile, the rest of the Keating 5 are involved in a very interesting case about a mother who is appealing to have her son’s murderer have a shorter sentence and Charlie reveals to Laurel that he killed Lila. The Keating 4 leave Annalise when they realise she knows about Wes in the hospital and hasn’t done anything about it, and the 5 students then have a little heart to heart in the car – one of the few times that they do, and it was nice to see them all talk a bit (in the middle of snide comments and lame jokes of course). In the flashbacks, we see Charlie and Bonnie as part of pregnant Keatings 5, and we find out out that Annalise has been meeting with Christophe and Rose (Wes and his mum). Now the interesting part comes when Annalise gives Rose a file with documents about the murder of a hedge-fund heir and leaves us with the question – how the hell is Rose involved, and is this case the reason she killed herself?!

confused kristen wiig meh maybe

Anyway, the episode ends on two cliffhangers – 1. Connor received a video from someone (Philip Jesup?!) from the night Annalise was shot and 2. Annalise leaves the stack of mysterious files at Wes’ apartment … WHAT IS GOING ON???????

The Flash E14
This week on The Flash: on Earth-2, Barry-2 and Iris-2 help Cisco and Harry find Killer Frost and get her to help them rescue Barry-1 and Jesse. Barry and Jesse try to interpret what the other prisoner is say and get the word “JAY” from him. Meanwhile on Earth-1, Jay takes Velocity 9 which helps him, Iris and Caitlin catch Geoman, and find out that the drug is actually help cure him. Then, along with Joe, the four of them manage to fix the broken breach stabilizers, and the Earth-2 team escape Zoom’s lair only to have Zoom reach through and pull Jay back to Earth-2. Now I understand that if you don’t watch The Flash, that paragraph makes absolutely NO SENSE what-so-ever, so just have faith that once you do start watching (or catch up), it’ll make sooooooo much more sense. I have so many theories of who Zoom is at the moment, that I don’t know which one to follow: Wally West, Jay, some weird time/world mash up of Barry or Harrison Wells – who knows! Anything is possible!

Arrow E14
This week, the team faces the Demolition Team, a team in HIVE that blows up buildings in order to kill people. Oh did I mention that they use hammers and nail-guns as their weapons of choice? Oh yea, the nail-gun chick is vicious and crazy AF. Anyway, Ollie is up against Ruvé (aka, Darhk’s evil wife) in the Mayoral Debate and wins (HOORAH!), Momma Smoak plans Olicity’s engagement party, Curtis Holt gives them the most amazing wedding present ever and, oh did I forget to mention? DAMIAN DARHK HAS OLLIE’S SON! We have no idea how or what happened, but he has William in his house and introduces him to his daughter – Where is his mother???!!!!!!!

Legends of Tomorrow E05

Before I say anything more, it must be noted that Snart makes the BEST comment about prison “This isn’t my first prison break”. GEDDIT!? Wentworth Miller was on Prison Break – there was literally an entire show made about him getting his brother out of jail. Best line ever, I would have switched off my TV happily at the end of that, but I kept going. Let’s keep it short and sweet: Stein gets tortured into tell evil Russian scientist the formula for Firestorm (but she doesn’t know he’s part of Firestorm), Ray gets beat up for Rory and they become besties, Snart and Sara go in to rescue the three from a Russian gulag – Snart wants to save Rory and Rip tells Sara to kill Stein if necessary so Savage doesn’t learn to make Firestorm. Of course in the end, everything works out, evil Russian lady tries to join with Stein to become Firestorm and kills herself and Sara doesn’t kill Stein – Team work for the win! Oh but wait –  their Tardis (I can’t remember the name) gets damaged thanks to Bobba Fett (I can’t remember his name either 😉 ) and they end up in Star City 2047. With a different Green Arrow. Da Fuq?! Can someone also please explain to me how two men can have a full on fight in their towels but i cant walk 7m to my bedroom without something popping out?!

New Girl E07 (Nick, Cece and Schmidt think that Reagan is a criminal and I found myself missing Jess), NCIS E15 (SecNav’s daughter gets kidnapped and Fornell from the FBI comes into assist), Suits E14 (Mike and Harvey fight to be Mike’s lawyer, and the prosecutor Gibbs uses Trevor and Donna against Mike’s case), The Big Bang Theory E16 (The group finds out about Bernie’s pregnancy and Sheldon gets drunk 🙂 )

Have a good week maties!

Why So Complicated??

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you guys had a lovely Valentine’s Day and generally a good week! I finally managed to finish of Breaking Bad and HOLY SHIT it got good. I really hope I wasn’t the only one that really, really, really despised Walter and wanted him to die for doing what he did to Jesse and Hank in the name of “doing it for his family” ??? I got so sick of hearing his excuses for being a complete nut-job that I was so happy he finally admitted his selfishness to Skyler and died. I truly hated his character, I don’t think I’ve hated a main character, or any character to be honest, this much before, and I’ve watched some weird shit. Anyway, my week was mainly filled with finishing that off, but thanks to my lazy disposition, I managed to watch all my usuals as well so we’re still on track. There were a few hits and misses and my list is growing again, so I’m going to go back to writing about the important episodes and just listing the rest in case you want to watch them anyway. I also found a theme of “let’s make this episode super complicated this week” in most of the shows this week, and safe to say, it annoyed me.

giphy (1)

Castle E09
One of my favourite couples is back! Castle and Beckett are secretly seeing each other (can I even say that considering they’re married?) but to show the rest of the world and Lokstat that they’re separated, Castle and Beckett say that they’re both seeing other people, much to the shock of Ryan and Esposito. The rest of the episode is a classic one, involving an acapella competition, Espo got his Pitch Perfect on, and Corbin Bleu from High School Musical made a guest appearance. All in all, a good episode, just want to see how far they’re going to go with these lies.

NCIS: LA E15
Here is my first example of overly complicated episodes for no reason. We basically deduce that Archaedes is alive, his daughter is looking for him and Sam and G are sent to Russia to go get him and a missing CIA agent back. I kind of thought it was a waste of an episode, when the entire plot can be written in one sentence but I guess the next episode will be more intense seeing as this one was just laying the groundwork.

Agent Carter E05
Half way through the season already! Just a heads up, the next two weeks are double episodes and so the season will be ending on the 1st of March – keep an eye out and make sure you don’t miss out! Anyway, this episode was a nice and simple one: The Zero Matter speaks to Whitney and makes her realise that she needs to steal an atomic bombs to recreate the discovery of Zero Matter. Peggy puts together a team of her, Jarvis, Sousa, Rose (the receptionist at the SSR) and Samberly (the lab tech) to go steal the uranium rods from a bomb stored in one of Chadwick’s facilities. Everything goes to plan until Peggy is touched by Whitney and then falls and injures herself. Sousa ends up taking her to his fiancĂ©s house to get treated, where she realises that Sousa is in love with Peggy and that is the reason he left New York. Wilkes also regains his physical body for a short time after touching the Zero Matter in the first victims body (remember back to episode 1, the lady in the lake?) but at the end of the episode, starts fading away entirely. It was a slower episode than what we’re used to, but you know what? It didn’t even feel like it because the characters are so vibrant and interesting that you’re focused on them rather than the plot – and sometimes, that’s not always a bad thing.

Supernatural E13
For me, this is one of those episodes where they have a main plot line which carries the episode but then they use the seasons sub-plot to weave a deeper story and add to the characters. Our favourite brothers get involved with a witch who is in charge of a cursed kissing genie and in turn, end up discussing Dean’s unfathomable attraction to Amara. It was nice to see the brothers talk, for 11 years, we’ve been watching them lie to each other and what not, but I’m glad to see a little bit of character development. Who wants to bet that in the last few episodes, one of them will lie to the other and we’ll be back where we started?

The 100 E04
Example numero duo. A lot happened this week, and a lot of characters were involved which was the exact opposite of some shows, like Agent Carter. I got the feeling that the writers/directors wanted to pack so much into the episode that we were distracted by the plot line and forgot the fact that some of the characters are just not
right. For example, following last week’s episode, Bellamy and the new Arkers have decided to take matters into their own hands and then Charles Pike is elected as the Chancellor. Now the thing that got me is that Bellamy is a strong guy, a leader, but he’s going back to being the scared and malleable guy that we saw in season 1, the guy whose thinking and opinions can be changed by someone who he knows isn’t always right. We actually had some good character progression going, and now all the kids are being reverted back to their old selves. Not only that, but the 100 was about the hundred kids that get sent down to Earth and how they survived, but now it’s all about the adults changing everything and bring politics into every decision. I think the show is slowly losing the essence of what made it a unique show to begin with. Anyway, the main part of the rest of the episode was Lexa fighting the Ice Prince (who is the Queen’s champion) for the position of Commander. Of course Lexa wins, but rather than killing the Prince, she throws the dagger at the Ice Queen, but the second that happened, I knew I had seen it before. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out which show had the same death, and I’m tempted to say Game of Thrones, but it’s definitely happened before, so please leave a comment below if you know which show and put me out of my confused misery!

Suits E13
Example tres – what is it with episodes this week that were just convoluted and unnecessary?! Basically all that happened in Suits this week was that Rachel’s education at Columbia gets put in jeopardy when the Dean of the Law School threatens to expel her because he heard rumours that Mike sat the LSATs for people and think’s that’s how Rachel gets in. This causes Mike to go all fiancĂ©-crazy and the team realise that he isn’t even being accused of this crime, which means that Gibbs has some additional information and this is not good. Meanwhile, Harvard law students don’t want to come to Pearson Specter Litt so Louis has to start going to other law schools (GAAAASP!) to find new associates.

The Flash E13
This is possibly the only episode in the entire week that had to be complicated, but was still done really well and the writers kept it as simple as possible. Harry, Barry and Cisco go through the last breach into Earth-2 and discover that everything is the opposite as Earth-1. Iris is a detective with the CCPD, Barry is still a forensic investigator and is married to her and Joe is a jazz singer that hates him because she has to work to put Barry through his PhD and put her life on the line. Barry-1 decides to abduct Barry-2 and become Barry-2 to find out more about Zoom when he runs into Killer Frost, Deathstorm and Reverb aka. Caitlin, Ronnie and Cisco who are out to capture him for Zoom. Through a series of unfortunate events, people die and Zoom takes Barry only to put him in the same place Jesse is and taunts him. Now back in Earth-1, after the three go through the breach, it kind of collapses on itself, giving Jay and Caitlin only 48 hours to open it back up to let Barry and Cisco back in, oh shit! In addition to that, there’s an earthquake-making meta wanting to fight the Flash and it’s up to Jay to take Velocity-7 (the speed drug) and stop him. Next episode is going to be very very very interesting!

Arrow E13
Example number 4 of stupidly complicated episodes. I’m going to try and give you the plot of this episode in 3 sentences.

  1. Felicity’s dad wants to have a relationship so Felicity tests him, finds out that he wants to steal Palmer Tech’s tech and she has him arrested.
  2. Team Arrow try to convince Malcolm to give up his League of Assassins power to Nyssa for the elixir to save Thea, only to realise that he’s a selfish and horrible father who needs to have his hand literally chopped off by Olli and his ring of power physically removed from his body in order to save Thea.
  3. Malcolm hates Olli and tells Damian Darhk about his illegitimate son.

Done and done.

Legends of Tomorrow E04
This was actually a rather simple episode but there’s a general trend forming – the team has a plan, all goes to shit, everyone fights and then they all come together to fight evil,. Except not necessarily in this case :/ Kendra and Sara realise that they need each other to discover their winged-warrior-priestess and normal-human sides, and you know what? I really hope that the two of them stick together and become friends, they’re gonna need it in this team of pumped up, testosterone-filled men. The team discover that  Savage is trying to recreate Firestorm in 1968 using a Russian scientist and while trying to get away from the lab, Stein, Palmer and Rory get caught and taken away. Meanwhile, Rory is trying to deal with the Time Council and the bounty hunter trying to kill him. Highlight of the episode was when one of the team members called the bounty hunter Bobba Fett, night made 🙂

How to Get Away with Murder E10
WE’RE BACK! Again, this episode was extremely complicated for no reason (example 5) so imma simplify the shit out of it so as not to waste your time. First the boring stuff – Annalise is out of hospital after Wes shoots her, Laurel tells the rest of the team it was her instead, Asher thinks his dad was murdered and didn’t commit suicide, Caleb Hapstall hates Michaela and Annalise breaks her attorney client privilege when she tells the court in a hearing that Catherine didn’t shoot her parents when testifying against Catherine’s case. The BIIIIIG moment was when Annalise and Caleb convince Catherine to tell lie and confess to the court that she did kill Emily Sinclair and shoot Annalise but drugged thanks to Philip Jesup – Oooohhhhhhhh! Anyway, for me, the most important part of the episode was when Annalise overdoses on Vicodin and imagines an African lady giving her a crying baby and fleeing. Bonnie comes to her call only to find Annalise giving her an empty blanket with no baby. We think that the hallucinations are because of the medication, except Annalise continues hearing the baby crying and at the end of the episode, is seen hugging herself, imagining putting the baby to sleep. Now one question begged to be answered – Is that little baby Wes? Maybe she’s his mother??? But then we get a flashback to a pregnant Annalise 10 years ago meeting a young Wes and his mum at a park – What happened after that?! The episode raised a lot more questions than it answered, but I’m sure happy it’s back!

Ones that weren’t mentioned: Scorpion E16 (Earthquake, team of awkward geniuses stop LA from going boom!), The Big Bang Theory E15 (Bernie is PREGGERS!), NCIS E14 (A lesson on how to solve a case without having proper access to the victim), and New Girl E06 (Megan Fox, more like Mega-Foxy, makes everyone all hot and bothered).

You get to come back! You get to come back!

There was a bit of a lull this week, which worked out perfectly for me because I finally caught up on Orange is the New Black! It was taking me ages to finish it, and I think it was mainly because the episodes are so long (about an hour) and the finale was 90 minutes! But Season 3 ended on a really good note and I can’t wait for my Season 4 binge watch in June. Watch this space to hear my story of how I watched 13 hours of the show and survived 😉 I also started rewatching Breaking Bad, I had watched 2 season and just gotten so bored with it that I stopped, but now that it’s not sooooo busy, I’m powering through. And I have to admit, I smashed out season 3 this week and it is already more interesting, so I can’t wait to see what happens – I can see what all the hype was about!

New Girl E05
Funny funny funny!!!! Winston decides to replace Jess and help Cece pick out a wedding dress which ends in them getting drunk and picking a poofy wedding dress that lights up and crystals all over the bodice – basically a wedding dress that no sane girl would actually want. In the meantime, Nick’s cousin and wife come and as if they can have Nick’s sperm in order to have a baby but everything goes hilariously wrong! The episode really showcases how close Schmidt and Nick are  and how much they really care for each other.

Agent Carter E04
We’re 4 episodes down and I’m already getting sad that it’s almost over 😩 They need to extend this show to make it a normal 24 episode season, but I can see that the episodes are very intricate and need time and effort to make good, so I guess if the quality is this good, then quantity is just something I will have to get over. Anyway, this week was very interesting, we got a flashback to both Whitney and Peggy’s lives. Whitney grew up in a
“not-so-ideal” household and learned that her brain is just worth as much as her pretty face. Meanwhile, Peggy and her brother grow up in a loving house, she’s a code breaker and she’s engaged to an Army officer. Her brother nominates her to join the Special Operations Executive as a spy, but she rejects the offer to be with her fiancĂ©e, only to break the engagement when her brother dies during the war and she realises that is who she really is. I think it was good to show some backstory for the girls and it really shows what kind of male-dominated world these two strong and independent women lived in. Anyway, back to the present time (which is still in the 40s), Peggy and Jarvis manage to capture their attacker, Rufus Hunt, and with Sousa, they interrogate him and get information. Somehow, the FBI gets involved, they release Hunt back to Whitney with a listening device and listen to him being “absorbed” by her in front of her husband. I’m very interested to know what she’s actually doing to these victims, it seems to be driven on her emotions rather than something she can control

Supernatural E12
Bring back the ladies! Sheriff Jody and her adopted daughters, Alex (the ex-vampire feeder) and Claire (Cas’ daughter) come back into the show and the Wincester brothers get pulled into a vampire revenge case. It was just a typical case, and plenty of cute family moments and hilarious awkward ones and I thoroughly enjoyed it 🙂

The 100 E03
Wah-hay for the third episode of the season, I shitload happens! Marcus and Abby come to Clarke and Lexa in the capital, and the Sky Crew become the 13th Clan. But Bellamy, Octavia and the new Arc guy are tipped off that the others are going into a trap at the capital and go off to rescue them. Little does everyone know that the Ice Nation has someone near Mount Weather and sets off a self-destruct sequence at the mountain, killing everyone except Raven and her commander. BOOOM everyone is dead! At the end of the episode, everyone but Clarke return to the Arc to protect their people and get ready for a war and the girl that tipped them off about the trap is shown to return to the Ice Queen and tell them that the plans are set. It was a bit confusing, and this was the simplest way for me to write it – but turns out it wasn’t so complicated anyway. But now the Arc has no medical equipment and supplies and are stuck in the middle of a war with the Ice Nation, they just can’t catch a break!

Suits E12
If you get passed all the complicated lawyer crap that goes on, here’s the general gist: Gibbs (the prosecutor) goes after Donna’s dad to try and get her to save her dad and give up Harvey. Instead, Mike and Harvey decide to give up Mike’s right to dismiss in order to free Donna’s dad. Meanwhile, the firm finds out that Sheila, Louis’ ex-girlfriend, is the one who sent Gibbs the anonymous email, and Jessica hires Jeff Malone, her ex-boyfriend, as her lawyer in case she gets implicated in Mike’s fraud case. I’m not going to lie, I got bored and just started staring and Mike’s on-point hair and all their outfits. I pray to the Corporate Gods up there to bestow me with the wardrobe that Jessica, Donna and Rachel have because every girls dream is to look that fabulous and powerful while climbing the corporate ladder.

The Big Bang Theory E14
Amy and Sheldon’s meemaw (grandma) don’t get along, Amy finds out about the engagement ring and Raj flirts with another girl, contemplating his relationship with Emily. Eh wasn’t that funny

The Flash E12
Hero of the episode was Joe. By far. Don’t even care what others say. In about 2 minutes, he punches Harry and knocks him down and then goes and punches the crap out of Tar Pit, this weeks Meta. It was spectacular! Anyway, the rest of the episode is still pretty interesting – Harry attaches a device to Barry’s suit that removes his Speed Force, leaving him slower and with damaged chromosomes, which results in Joe punching him and the team locking him up. A 2% reduction in Barry’s speed force ends up meaning that Iris gets hurt when the meta attacks the illegal car racing ring that Wally, Joe and Iris are at and what what prompts Harry to tel the team what he did. I think Tom Cavanagh has acted really well in the episode, you really feel for his position what he does what he does, all for his daughter. In reality, a parent will do anything and everything for their child and I think he was great in showcasing that.

Arrow E12
I’m going to assume that they just had a huge budget for this episode because the number of characters they brought back was just ridiculous. Roy comes back as Arsenal, Shado (all the way back in season 1) is back in Ollie’s hallucinations, Nyssa escapes her cell in Nanda Parbat and goes to steal something from Tatsu who’s protecting it. Every 5 minutes, I had to pause the episode, turn to my parents and we had to discuss who it was that came back. But in the story, The Calculator, used Roy to steal tech from various places in order to create an internet nuke, and of course Felicity to the rescue! She also finally realises she can still be a badass in wheelchair, and Thea’s bloodlust starts taking its toll on her. I’m going to give some spoilers away now, so if you don’t want to read, scroll to the gif of Tina and Amy. At the end of the episode we see The Calulator sitting next to Ollie at Palmer Tech watching Felicity give a presentation, only to discover a minute later that he is in fact – wait for it
 – FELICITY’S DAD!!!!! OMG WHAAAAAA????? My jaw fell to the ground seeing as he was a ruthless computer tech guy that was out to destroy the city. To say we were shocked was an understatement
Also, Nyssa comes to Ollie and tells him that she has a “lotus” that can save Thea which she will give, once Merlyn has been killed. All very complicated.

Legends of Tomorrow E03
Things don’t go exactly to plan in this episode, surprise surprise, but the team is still figuring out how to work together, so I’ll give them that. Plus it was definitely better than the episode last week, so that’s good too! This week, the team splits up a little:

  • Ray goes into Kendra’s bloodstream to breakdown particles of the dagger that are threatening to kill her with the help of Stein
  • Snart, Rory and Jacks go to steal a gem and give it to Snarts father in 1975 so that he avoids going to jail and beating them
  • Rip and Sara go off to find Savage’s most valued possessions and to retrieve Carter’s body.

We also find out that Savage uses Carter Hall’s blood to keep his most valued followers alive for hundreds of years – creepy AF I know. Anyway, it’s alright episode, it’s still super silly but I guess they want to keep it that way, rather than making it dark and boring from the beginning.

Anyway, that was it for the week, there are a few more shows starting back up next week like Castle and How to Get Away with Murder so make sure you get on to it!!!

Tears and then Sunshine!

I finally finished watching The Office this weekend and oh my god, so many feels.

sad1

I feel like someone has switched a flip in my brain that connects to my eyes were constantly welled up for something like 5 hours. I just really enjoyed the show, there were some completely unbelievable characters and some that you can totally relate to, but each of them went through very realistic experiences. I would like to thank the writers for deepening Jim and Pam’s relationship so that it wasn’t all sunshine and daisies, but showed the hard realities of a marriage and the sacrifices you have to go through to make it work. I would also like to point out that the gif that I used above is actually from The Office, thank you to Jim and Pam’s daughter for accurately describing my feelings 😩 Despite my feeling, rest of the week was fine and dandy, let’s have a look!

Suits S05 E11
Suits is back and it’s as complicated and awesome as ever! They’re starting back for the second half of their 5th season, and Mike has been arrested for conspiring to commit a fraud just after him and Harvey both resigned from Pearson Specter Litt thanks to the threats Soloff and Forstman made against the firm. Things get very interesting when Rachel’s father comes into the picture, Louis realises that Harvey needs Donna back to help him with Mike’s case and they all try to determine who was the one that turned Mike in. It’s going to be an interesting few weeks as we follow the firm but I’m actually much more interested in how they’re going to continue the show, seeing as the main reason for the show was keeping Mike’s fraud a secret :/

Supernatural E11
A normal case hoorah! Sam and Dean head out to a retirement village that has a murdering banshee killing off oldies and they meet a fellow hunter as well. Episode highlights include Dean and Sam actually having a quality conversation about their messed up lives, and a flirty grandma. The lowlight (is that the opposite of highlights?!) of the week was Castiel being possessed by Lucifer – as if this plotline needed another complication.

NCIS: LA E14
I feel like the difference between the quality of a show is how a character develops and learns like a real person, rather than some fake stereotypical character that is stuck in their ways. New shows are more about interesting plot lines and wow-ing the audience with special effects and I think that sometimes, they need to step back, look at what other long-running shows are doing and see what makes them have such high ratings and viewers. This week’s NCIS: LA episode was just a perfect example of this. In the episode, Kensi’s ex-fiance Jack returns and is involved in the case, but the highlight of the episode was Deeks. Although sometimes he’s portrayed as a goofy, carefree fellow with no responsibilities, he pulls through and shows what a mature and loving character he is. He knows that Kensi and Jack have a lot of history together, but he also realises that they need to talk about what happened between them and trusts Kensi and their love to pull through. And that’s exactly what we see in this episode, and I love it. The rest of the episode is pretty alright, a good way to spend 45 minutes of your day if you’re not too busy.

Scorpion E15
Not entirely stupidly ridiculous this week, though it does involve a bomb strapped a girl Walter has a disastrous date with and NASA. It’s not really worth me going in depth about the episode except for one huuuuuge flaw (in my opinion). So basically there’s a rocket about to go up and Sylvester discovers that the security for the launch site is fully electronic and camera based, meaning that there are no human security guards patrolling a very important and expensive rocket launch. I don’t know about anyone else but that seems highly unlikely that NASA would rely entirely on camera’s THAT CAN BE EASILY HACKED AND LOOPED, which is basically what the team ends up doing. Urgh this show, need to remind myself that for the rest of the season, I’m not going to spend any more time wasting my words on reviewing it. This show is definitely being ditched next year.

Agent Carter E03
I don’t know if I’ll ever say anything bad about this show, it’s just too awesome! So I looked at my notes and saw that I had written down “beautiful chocolate doctor” because I had totally forgotten what Dr Jason Wilkes’ name was hehe.

tumblr_m5lhffIkBn1r3paoao1_500

Anyway we find out that he isn’t dead from the Zero Matter explosion, but is in some kind of invisible, wave length dimension. This just gives the cue for eternally seedy yet tolerable and hilarious Howard Stark to come in, do some science stuff and show us that Wilkes is still alive and can bring him back to his corporeal self. Meanwhile, Peggy and Jack have a very heated argument and no matter how much I scream at the TV, he just doesn’t seem to understand that the FBI guy (Who my Dad recognised as Red from That 70s Show) is so bad and Peggy is right. Oh and we finally get to see Whitney Frost showcase how scared she is after the explosion and oh my god, she definitely has reason to be! Oh and there’s also a Only-Men’s club that is manipulating the news by blackmailing certain people, and their sigil is on the pin that Peggy found and Dottie was trying to steal two episodes ago. Very interesting…

New Girl E04
The boys decide to go to Tokyo for Schmidts’ bachelor party and think they can convert their loft into a hotel to pay for the expenses and of course, everything goes wrong! It was an alright episode, Winston was still a bit lame :/

The 100 E02
Oh thank god, Clarke is back to being blonde! In my opinion, this was a rather slow and quiet week, but that’s ok because things are gonn’ get hectic! Bellamy, Monty, Marcus and Indra find Monty’s mother and another group of survivors from the Arc and they also find Clarke who’s being kidnapped by an Ice Nation member, but isn’t taking her to the Ice Nation leader. When you find out where he takes her, it’s a “holy crap woooooow” moment! Jasper goes crazy again, Abby takes a Grounder to Mount Weather for medical attention and John finally ditches Jaha the preacher. It’s all getting confusing because everyone is spread out doing different things and there are multiple storylines, but I do hope they bring them altogether in the end.

The Flash E11
So the title of the episode is “The Reverse-Flash Returns”, which in itself is super complicating because the whole point of the last season was to eliminate the Reverse Flash and thanks to Eddie Thawn (RIP), his entire existence was erased. In light of this, bear with me as I try to explain what happens. Basically, Reverse Flash (aka Eobard Thawne) turns up in 2016 but doesn’t know the Flash’s name or anything so we figure out that he’s the Reverse Flash that has traveled to the future from before Barry’s mother was killed. Therefore, in his timeline, he’s still alive and yet to kill Barry’s mum whereas in Team Flash’s timeline, they’ve already killed him. Does that make sense? It’s taken me a good 4 days to figure that one out, god damn I hate time travel. Anyway, the episode is pretty  cool, Patty discovers that Barry is the Flash but still leaves Central City, Cisco is in a little bit of trouble and we find out that Francine West is coming to the of her days. Iris forgives her (which I still don’t like) but comes through as a big sister when Wally refuses to meet his mum and say his goodbyes. All in all, a good episode 🙂

Arrow E11
Goth Felicity is back! Well not actually back, but after the traumatic events of the last few episodes, Felicity starts hallucinating her college self but being the strong and independent woman that she is, she fights through and is alright! I actually really liked the way they showed Felicity’s struggle, too many characters in too many shows go through life changing experiences and don’t show what a normal person would do through. A fully abled woman as just realised that she may never walk again and Felicity showed the confusion and pain a normal person would. I would be really interested to see how Olli deals with it over the next few episodes :/  The episode focuses on ARGUS, John and Andy’s relationship in the army and Andy finally proves to Diggle that he can be trusted. There was a bit “oh shit” moment when someone is killed – no spoilers, but don’t worry it’s not someone from Team Arrow! Can’t wait for next week, one of our beloved characters is back! WOOOOO!
throw-your-fists-up

Legends of Tomorrow E02
Ok, I like the show, don’t get me wrong, but this week was just a colossal idiot fest and totally would have turned me off if it wasn’t for my sweet disposition. Every single character in this week’s episode have a “Oh my god, could you be that stupid?!” moment, and it got maddeningly frustrating! Basically, they find Vandal and try to capture him without Hunter’s help, Palmer messes up and leaves behind advanced technology in 1975 and so they have to contact Dr Stein’s younger self in order to find it. Oh in the meantime, they find a dagger to kill Vandal and only after someone dies (BIG WTF MOMENT!), do they figure out that Kendra has to be the one to stab Vandal with this particular dagger whilst saying a particular poem. It’s all oddly specific, but hey, they’re superheroes to what the hell! Oh also, Firestorm can absorb denotated nuclear bombs
they’re just making this shit up! Anyway, at the end, they realise they need to “work as a team” and start chasing down Vandal, so I’m pretty keen to see what happens next week 🙂
