Aliens and Superheroes and Vikings

My week was dominated by waiting in anticipation of this massive DC crossover, but I had plenty to watch before the episodes came out, including the return of Vikings!!!

Vikings Season 4 E11
The vikings are back!!!!!!! When we last left them, Ragnar had suffered a huge loss at the expense of Rollo in Paris and on his return to Kattegat, disappeared into the wilderness, leaving his 5 sons and Aslaug to rule in his stead. Now that he’s returned, he wants to go back to England and see his 6th son (Magnus) and decide what to do about the annihilated viking settlement. Bjorn wants to go to the Mediterranean and find riches there, and has Harald, Floki and Hvitserk with him and a new fleet of ships. Aslaug is staying to rule, with the help for Ubbe and Sigurd, which means that Ragnar goes to visit Lagertha and see if she will accompany him. Unfortunately, she refuses and they have a moment together before he leaves but man I love the two of them. The way Ragnar gets nervous around Lagertha and the air of confidence she has about herself is just so amazing, you know deep down that he regrets ever being with Aslaug and ruining their marriage, it breaks my heart. On the way back home, he tries to hang himself from a tree, but ravens break the rope so he gets back to Kattegat, and asks Ivar to accompany him to England, which he agrees to. I just hope they don’t go down The Walking Dead route and start focusing on too many people and places that it gets boring…

The Walking Dead E06
In this weeks episode, the writers have decided that we needed to know what happened to Tara and Heath on their mission to get more ammo. Tara and Heath are caught up in Walkers, Tara escapes and finds herself at a ocean-side settlement of women, escapes them and heads back to Alexandria but is hopeful Heath is still alive. This show is getting way too boring, and the fact that they spend one entire episode on a different character every week is making it slow and uninteresting. I’m waiting for the fast paced show that we’re used to, but it doesn’t look like things are going to be getting any better. Now that they’re stretching their limited screen-time to 5 different locations (Alexandria, Hilltop, Negan’s lair, the Kingdom and Oceanside), audiences are getting bored. tumblr sherlock bored david tennant 10th doctor

Once Upon a Time E09
Again, another boring week spent showcasing Belle and Rumple’s messed up relationship that no one really cares about – JUST TELL US WHO’S GOING TO KILL EMMA! Anyway, in the flashbacks, we find out that Rumple hates fairies because his mother was the Black Fairy who abandoned him as a baby. Back in Storeybrooke, Rumple tricks Belle into speeding up her pregnancy, so she ends up giving birth to Gideon at the end, but makes the Blue Fairy his Godmother, requesting her to take him far away from Rumple. Aladdin decides to become a genie in the lamp in order to save Agrabah (oh yea, completely forgot that his was going on) and Emma finds the sword that stabs her – but who actually does the deed???? Amongst all of this, Charming is still asleep and Regina stops the Evil Queen from killing Zelena. There are too many things going on and rather than focusing on one major storyline, I feel like the writers are doing too many things at once, trying to please everyone, and it’s just not working.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD E07
After the explosion in the lab which Eli causes, Fitz, Coulson and Robbie get trapped in another dimension, but May doesn’t lose faith, so asks Radcliffe to use the Book to open a portal and get them. Unfortunately, the book can control a human mind, so he introduces Aida and they use her to read the book and open a portal to get the three guys back. All goes well, until we see Aida start using the information she read to create a “brain”, and I can only assume that she’s starting to build one for herself – are we going to have another Ultron situation again? But while Robbie was in the other dimension, the Devil entered Mack and used him, but eventually Robbie and Daisy were able to put the Devil back in Robbie, but not before Mack and Robbie decide to work together to get their vengeance first. Oh and poor Simmons is taken to an unknown location and managed to free a man from his terragenesis case, I think he has something to do with the Senator that the Director keeps talking to, maybe it’s her brother???

Quantico E08
So this weeks class is about creating a cover for their Thanksgiving break, and all manage to do it except for Dayana, but she just doesn’t want to go see her family. We learn about Harry’s adoptive family and his mission with MI6, gathering contacts in America before Brexit goes through and they lose their connections. There’s also more about his lover/boyfriend Elliot – he may have been his adoptive brother? Not too sure about that though. Alex finds out that Shelby is no longer her handler and she’s being taken off the mission, but refuses to go and Ryan finally proposes to her as well. But here’s the interesting part – the AIC manages to get Leon, Ryan and Dayana all accomplices to a murder and have taped the whole thing, which means they now control them. In the flash forward part, Raina finds out about Nimah’s involvement with the Citizens Liberation Front. Miranda, Shelby and Alex are given 48 mins to unarm the biological weapon before the army calls a drone strike, but Alex realises that the bomb is to go off inside the building, so clearly there’s someone inside that is to be killed. But just as they are making their escape, Alex, Harry, Leon, Seb and Dayana are captured – and one of the masked men is Ryan. Ooooooohhhhhhh

Supergirl E08
Cadmus decides to eliminate as many aliens as possible because they’ve just had enough, so deploy a gas bomb in the alien bar, just missing Mon-El as he leaves and follows Hank out of the bar. He gets some of the gas and collapses, and Alex’s mum comes to the rescue. She also figures out that Cadmus needs a device to help them launch the gas into the atmosphere so Supergirl gives Lena a visit, asking her to help, but she doesn’t believe her that her mother is evil and doesn’t help. So we end up at the mid-season finale, Lena has given her mother the device and the gas-bomb is deployed, but J’onn and Supergirl arrive. Supergirl takes on the rocket launcher while J’onn embraces his new/transforming White Martian body to fight Hank and while he defeats him, the bomb goes off… but nothing. Turns out that Miss Lena Luthor is still good despite her terrible family and switched out the devices, and called the police, getting her mother arrested and ending Cadmus’ projects. All in all, the episode and arc ended well for the year, Alex comes out to her mum and Maggie tells her she wants them to be together, Mon-El kisses Kara but then denies remembering it… and Barry and Cisco come to fetch Kara and take her to their Earth!

The Flash E08 / Arrow E08 / Legends of Tomorrow E07 crossover
Ok, I’m not going to go into the absolutely details of the crossover because it would take me forever, but I really liked it. There were some parts which I didn’t like and some that I really did, but that always happens. The story is fairly simple – Barry comes across a spaceship with “Dominators” who had once come in 1951, killed a lot of people and them disappeared. They’ve now come back because the threat of metas on Earth is increasing since Flashpoint and they want Barry to surrender or they’ll start eliminating metas worldwide. So he gets the help of Team Arrow, Team Legends and Supergirl to help get rid of them. Of course things don’t go to plan. Stein and Jax tell Barry about their cryptic message from the future, and Barry tells everyone about Flashpoint – John’s daughter no longer existing, Caitlin’s powers and Stein finds out his new timeline resulted in a daughter. The team gets over their issues, and with a bit of time travel and team work, they manage to get rid of the aliens and return everyone to their appropriate Earth/cities/time machines. So things that I liked: although some parts got pretty heavy, Barry, Felicity and Kara managed to keep the quirkiness and humour up. You also got to see a deeper side to Oli and his relationship with Barry and we also get to see everyone’s relationships build. Cisco realises that Barry only did what he can after Flashpoint and forgives him for what happened. Things I didn’t like – the middle Arrow episode. I can see why they did what they did, it was the 100th episode and they brought back characters that had left/died (Moira, Tommy, Roy, Laurel) but there was a serious lack of cross-over material in the episode, which was really disappointing. The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow episodes had more cast members in it and were much more enjoyable, but I guess they did need some depth, and that’s when Arrow came in.

NCIS: LA E10 – the team finds out that the woman who was hitting on Granger at a bar is involved in their case with the mole in NCIS.

New Girl E08 – Jess becomes the principal of her school and Nick gets a tattoo as a  Cece and Schmidt’s wedding present.

The Big Bang Theory E10 – Sheldon and Leonard fight over splitting their possessions, Stuart and Raj fight over taking care of Howard and Bernie and then Bernie goes into labour!!!!

Supernatural E07 – Lucifer uses his rockstar fame to get more followers (for fun) but is stopped by Sam, Dean, Crowley and Cas so leaves his decaying vessel in search for a new one.

Nice and Simple

This’ll be a nice and short post because thanks to Thanksgiving in the US of A, most of the shows decided to have a little hiatus 🙂

The Walking Dead E05
We finally find out what happens to Maggie and Sasha! They make it to Hilltop and make sure Maggie is safe with her baby, as well as visit the graves of Glenn and Abe. The head of Hilltop (Gregory)  wants them gone before the Saviours find out they’re there, but Jesus manages to delay him before he turns them over. So with Maggie and Sasha safe, Sasha asks Jesus to find out there Negan’s lair is, so he hops into one of the Saviours trucks as they leave the Hilltop with half of their possessions. Meanwhile, Enid decides she needs to go find Maggie and Carl decides to help her get there, all the while with the ulterior motive of trying to find Negan to kill him. They manage to get Enid to Maggie, but Carl is determined to get to Negan too (despite Enid’s protests and my screams at the TV) and hops in the Saviours truck – the same one with Jesus.

Supergirl E07
So there was a simple list of things that happened this week, though I reckon half of it didn’t matter because even the writers glossed over it:

  1. There’s a copy cat Guardian out there, killing all the bad-guys that the real Guardian is leaving for the authorities to catch, so Winn and Jimmy do something about it. Also, Alex finds out Jimmy is The Guardian.
  2. Cadmus contacts Supergirl and tells her that they have Mon-El and she has to come to them to free him. She also finds out that Hank Henshaw (the man J’onn is impersonating) is alive but has been altered to be Cyborg Superman, an enhanced human with Supergirl-level powers. She depletes her powers to save Mon-El, and they take a vial of her blood but shortly after, Jeremiah (Kara’s adoptive father) helps them escape. Unfortunately, by the time Supergirl tells the DEO and Alex comes to save him, Cadmus have moved their operations elsewhere. Hank then takes Kara’s blood to a Fortress of Solitude (though I have no idea where or who’s it is) and gets information from the system on “Medusa”.
  3. J’onn starts having visions or white Martians and his dead family and when he realises that his cells are morphing into something else, he goes and has a chat to his new White Martian friend, M’gann. Obviously, he’s a little pissed off and they fight, but J’onn wins and keeps M’gann in a cell, while she tells him that he’ll slowly turn into a White Martian now that her blood was in him :/

The Flash E07
Oh Barry, you’re so cute and sweet and you mean well, but damn you really messed things up when you decided to save your mum. And then un-save her. In order to save Barry from Savitar, Caitlin has to use her powers and starts unleashing Killer Frost, who wants to go find alchemy and get him to change her back. She ends up kidnapping Julian in the process, but everything ends find when Barry convinces her inner Caitlin to come out and take control over Killer Frost. But while lovely Killer Frost is on her mission to save herself, she tells Cisco that the reason Dante is dead is because of Flashpoint, and at this point, it doesn’t appear that Cisco will ever forgive Barry for this. Meanwhile, Joe decides to break Wally out of his cocoon too early, so his mind and body are working at different speeds, but Caitlin manages to give him a serum to get everything working again – and turn Wally into Kid Flash 😉 Now here’s the biggy. Barry goes to see Julian post-kidnapping and convince him not to tell the cops that it was Caitlin. In return for his silence, Julian tells Barry that he’s not fit for a CSI and makes him resign! Dick move, mate. BUT THEN – Julian hears a voice, and he runs to his apartment and takes out his Alchemy mask – JULIAN IS ALCHEMY AND SAVITAR RULES HIM! I had a feeling this was the case from the beginning, but it was still a bit of a shock.

New Girl E07 – The last Thanksgiving in the loft with the gang, plus Robbie and Schmidt’s dad and it’s chaotic as usual.

NCIS: LA E09 – G’s dad is involved in a case and learns that he has a half-sister and a nephew and Kensi has been improving so that she is able to walk now, but still has some issues with her fine motor skills.

NCIS E08 – We get to meet Bishops 3 older brothers and find out that she is now dating Qasim, an NCIS translator, cuteeeeeee 🙂

Next weeks, gonna get hectic – see you soon!

Gaaaaaaaaasp

I don’t have any introduction this week, because I need to get right into it, some of the episodes were soooooo good!!!!

How to Get Away with Murder E09
Look away now if you don’t want any spoilers, because I ain’t holding back. Are you ready?…friends shocked monica monica geller gaspIT WAS WES! WES IS THE ONE UNDER THE SHEET. HE’S THE ONE THAT DIES IN THE HOUSE FIRE, HE’S DEAD OH MY GAWD. How can they do that?! It’s Wes, the most important person in the show, the entire show is based around him and how he gets into the Keating 5! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH. Oh and damn the writers who make it look like it was Nate in the house. WHYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! Ok, I’ll calm down and explain:

After Bonnie manages to stop Frank from killing himself for Annalise and Annalise’s class all manage to pass her midterm exam, everyone parties. Kind of. Asher tells Michaela about her mum visiting, Asher gets drunk after, Connor let’s something slip about the bonfire night so Oli investigates, and Connor has sex with Thomas. Annalise realises that the DA’s office is investigating her using Nate so he goes home and breaks her sobriety. And in true AK fashion, she destroys every piece of evidence in her house and ends up at Bonnie’s house who takes care of her. Now, while Annalise is passed out, Bonnie tells Frank to take care of things and take the fall for Annalise. And while the other 4 are partying and Annalise is drunk, Wes’ lawyer tells him the police want him to come in to the office for something, but then they realise that they’re after Annalise. Wes fires the lawyer and that’s when we see him demand full blanket immunity for ratting out Annalise. Nate sees Wes in interrogation and realises that the DA’s office used him to get to Annalise, so he goes to her place, only to see it trashed (at this point you’re like, oh shit, he’s the dead man). Annalise starts calling the Keating 5 back to her house, Wes leaves the precinct undetected, and Laurel enters the house at the same time. Then KABOOM. House up in flames. Fast forward to everyone in the hospital, Annalise in jail and Nate walking into the morgue to see the body, who turns out to be Wes. Bonnie simultaneously tells the Asher, Connor and Michaela while Laurel and Meggy find out Wes’ death by the breaking news bulletin. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment sad upset crying sarah michelle gellarAnd this is where the writers really mess you up. Frank calls Bonnie while outside the burning house and Bonnie tells him that Laurel is pregnant – is thebaby his or Wes’? And did he blow up the house??? And the big one – Nate reveals that Wes wasn’t killed by the explosion or the fire, he was killed before the house had gone up. SO WHO DID IT?! Unfortunately, the writers are cruel cruel people because that was the mid-season finale and we now have to wait till the middle of January for their return 😦 HULU tv abc viola davis how to get away with murder

Quantico E07
Look, I like this show. Season 2 hasn’t been as gripping as the first season, but what can you do when a show is focused around FBI agents… that aren’t really in the FBI anymore. Anyway, in this weeks ep, our CIA recruits get a chance to use enhanced interrogation techniques on Owen to get his aliases name out of him, and everyone truly gets to see how low they’re willing to go to get an answer out of him. Dayana reveals a bit about herself in Harare when she says that the only way they’re going to break Owen is to hurt Lydia, and that’s exactly what they do. Meanwhile, while all of this is happening, Alex manages to get into Owen’s house (on Miranda’s orders) and finds mobile phones and a laptop in a hidden compartment of his house, but narrowly escapes with no evidence after Harry helps her out. Oh, Sebastian finally comes to terms with his feelings for Harry, Shelby finally gets a cover to find out more about Leon and Nimah, Ryan and Shelby start having meetings without Alex, something she is not happy about. And the big one – Ryan wakes up in the middle of a road with a phone, which he answers and the voice saying that he’s been selected :/
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert wtf scared omg confusedBack in the present, Miranda manages to plant her mobile phone in her boyfriends bag to frame him when Shelby tells her Alex told her part of the number. Alex gets caught and they interrogate her to find out where the drives are but they don’t get anything out of her until they almost paralyses Dayana. But thankfully, the terrorists are interrupted when they turn off their scramblers and allow communication to open up (to try and get to Lydia) and Harry, Seb and Leon rescue Alex and Dayana.

Once Upon a Time E08
While Snow and Charming start dealing with not being awake with each other, Regina and Emma try to trap the Evil Queen in the mirror world, but fail and end up getting stuck themselves. Only when Henry faces the Evil Queen, he realises he has the strength to defeat her and free his real mums. Meanwhile, Zelena and Belle use Aladdin to steal the Scorcerors wand from Rumple, but they fail too, and Rumple ends up putting a location bracelet on Belle and realises that after his previous deal with Zelena, he can’t hurt her. So who does he turn to to take care of Zelena? His love-thing, the Evil Queen. I keep telling myself that things can’t get any more complication and messed up, but they do.

The Walking Dead E04
Urgh Negan and his cronies. I hate them so much! And I hate what they’ve done to Rick. They’ve made him a snivelling, weak, shell of a man and I hate that. They’ve turned everyone in Alexandria from a functioning and cooperating group of people to these people that are so frightened of what could happen, they’re essentially slaves. And I don’t blame them, Negan is crazy and dangerous AF, but I just can’t wait to see them all fight back, but who knows if they ever will now. Negan comes to Alexandria and takes half of everything they own (beds, property, house hold items, medicines) but leaves them their food. And after an incident with the inventory, he takes all their guns and ammunition too, leaving them totally defenseless against an attack by walkers, let alone Negan’s men. Other than that, Darryl is brought along too and from what I’ve read in post-episode deconstructions, he was communicating with Rick while he was there, using morse code to reveal where he’s being held. So our friends are sans-guns, sans-Darryl, Morgan and Carol and have nothing going for them. Oh and Negan is going to come back and hopes they have something “interesting” for him. Lovely.

Supergirl E06
This week, in the adventures of Supergirl and her Superfriends, they deal with an alien parasite that can take the life and powers of people to power itself. Winn manages to finish Jimmy’s suit , who will now be called The Guardian, and Mon-El finds his inner hero so Supergirl finally has a few more friends to help her out. J’onn gets injured and Alex requests his “green martian friend” to help out and donate blood, and although she obliges, she’s very hesitant, maybe because she’s been LYING TO EVERYONE AND SHE’S ACTUALLY A WHITE MARTIAN! I dunno, maybe the blood transfusion will do something to J’onn? It doesn’t look good. But the main part of the episode was Kara and Alex’s relationship. Alex, with great difficulty, manages to come out to Kara, and after working through and discussing everything, she has her heart broken by Maggie who says she doesn’t want to be with someone who isn’t in the same place as her. Now two things: one, I can see Maggie’s point of view and I can understand Alex’s feelings, so no one is the good/bad guy in this. Secondly, I think that the way they dealt with Kara and Alex was the most realistic scene on television I have seen. Both parties were honest, hesitant but in the end, supportive and kind, which is exactly what more and more people need to see and be like when someone in their life opens up to them. They didn’t ignore the change in their relationship or the way Kara dealt with the news, but the outcome resulted in the sisters becoming closer than ever before – and it warmed my heart up so much.

The Flash E06
Oh boy, Team Flash deals with three separate issues all at once, I feel like they were getting tugged in all different directions:

  1. Cisco and Caitlin finally tell the rest of the team of her powers after he vibes them fighting as Killer Frost and Vibe. Best part: you can actually see Joe’s face go “oh shit, not another one, I swear these kids, I can’t take care of another one…”. Poor guy, started with Iris, pretty much adopted Barry, Wally shows up and then Cisco and Caitlin have tagged along as his extra kids.
  2. There’s a new meta called Shade that is basically a shadow and the team manage to catch him by putting a whole of lights on hi. Look I didn’t pay much attention to this, and it seems neither did the writers because we don’t even get told the name of the metahuman who turns into Shade.
  3. Wally starts having dreams about Kid Flash so Barry tells Iris, Joe and Wally about Flashpoint. But Wally starts getting pains in his stomach, plus visions and Alchemy calls to him so they use him as bait to get to Alchemy. But even when they capture Alchemy, he uses a pulse thing to hurt Barry and escapes, all the while another speedster called Savitar (who only Barry can see) attacks them. Still talking to Wally, Alchemy convinces him to touch some kind of orb thing which encases Wally in this cocoon-like thing.

Things are getting messy in the show, and why do they keep bringing in more speedsters?! As if we didn’t have enough in The Flash, Kid Flash, Jessie Quick, Reverse Flash, The Rival and now Savitar.

Arrow E07
There’s a new vigilante in town that’s taken over Team Arrow protective roles but also has them questioning whether they should take someone down that is helping them do their jobs. My mum and I think that the vigilante, who’s calling himself Vigilante, is none other that new cute-DA man, Adrian Chase, but we are yet to have our suspicions confirmed. Quentin talks to Thea about his drinking, blackouts and the throwing stars he found in his apartment, and she offers him love and support and advises him to go into rehab, which he does. Thea (thankfully) goes and tells Oli about Quentin’s tale of being framed and they realise that Prometheus must know that Oli is the Green Arrow – and this is when we find out that Evelyn has been working with Prometheus! WHAAAAAA? Oh and the flashbacks, Oli learns that that the Bratva have a deal in place with Kovar and all of his time being beaten and interrogated by Kovar was for nothing.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow E06
The team are back in the Wild West with Jonah Hex! A time pirate leaves behind some Dwarf Star detection technology in 1874, causing a time aberration when a local bad guy gets it and starts planning to create his own country Turnbull Country by blowing up the Dwarf Star and blocking the pass giving the US Army access to the Wild West. Eventually the team manage to stop this from becoming history and all is saved with a few hitches. Ray creates Nate a suit for when he becomes Steel. The Amulet that Darhk was giving to the Nazi’s is not in any research paper or book, it essentially doesn’t exist, causing some confusion. Oh and Martin starts having visions of a woman he once/has/could have loved – means someone’s messing with the timeline again and I can only assume the episode ends with a lead up to a 3 part crossover between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and the Legends, because suddenly … “2016 needs our help”.

NCIS: LA E08 – Kensi uses the engagement ring as motivation to heal and get out of the hospital sooner.

NCIS E07 – Senior asks who on the team wants Tony’s old apartment and Torres wins the draw but he gives it to McGee for him and Delilah.

New Girl E06 – Jess tries and fails to start something with Robbie and Nick realises that Cece should start managing models rather than his bar.

Supernatural E06 – Jody is back, we meet a few other hunters at a funeral and Mary realises that although she’s out of place on Earth, she still wants to be with Sam and Dean and says no to Billy the Reaper, who’s ready to take her back to Heaven.

My Brain is Melting Part 3

Guys, I did it. I’ve finally caught up to everyone and man, it’s been a journey. I would like to say thank you to my couch, bed and desk chair for always giving me adequate lumbar support, my fridge for keeping my snacks fresh and delicious, my TV for not over heating and my eyes for not burning up. Let’s see how we went!

The Flash Season 03 E01-05
Hahahahaha just when I thought things could get simpler, they don’t. Thanks to the actions of young Barry in the first episode, not only the Flash timeline messed up, he’s messes up the Arrow one as well (details will follow later). But all our characters are still funny, and Barry is still adorable, so imma a happy chickee:

  1. Barry has gone back in time and stopped his mother dying, which means that when he returns to the present, the timeline has changed. He still lives with his parents, and works at the CCPD but Joe is an alcoholic and on bad terms with Iris, Iris is just simply a mysterious girl from his high school who is at the same coffee place every day, The Flash doesn’t exist, but is replaced with Kid Flash (Wally West) and his rival, The Rival. Oh, Harrison Wells doesn’t exist, Cisco is a rich entrepreneur and Caitlin is a paediatric opthamologist. Unfortunately, the more he uses his speed in this timeline, the more he forgets about his other timeline, until Reverse Flash convinces him to take them both back to when his mother dies and allow what was supposed to happen, happen. Anyway, they go back, Mrs. Allen dies (again), and they return to the present of the original timeline, only to discover it’s been changed (again). Welcome to Flashpoint. *you think this is messed up, wait till the next episode*
  2. So because of Flashpoint, things have changed again – Iris is mad at Joe for not telling about her mother, she and Barry haven’t actually kissed ever, Barry has a new CSI buddy, Julian Albert (Tom Felton) who hates metas, Cisco is mad at Barry for not going back and saving Dante from a drunk driver, oh and Felicity tells him that Diggle has a son, John Jr, not little baby Sara (rubs head). Anyway, there’s a new baddy in town, Alchemy, who is going around and giving humans powers that they’re alternative timeline metas would have had, so we say hello to The Rival again. Anyway, everything ends up sorted, The Rival dies at the hand of Alchemy and we realise that there are others with powers – Caitlin included… Guess who’s turning into Killer Frost?
  3. Harry Wells and Jessie are back! Though Jessie is a little different – guess who’s a speedster now? Jessie Quick and The Flash soon get into training and have to work together to take down a teenage girl (Frankie) who’s meta-self, Magenta, is going around killing her foster parents. Everything ends up sorted, and Frankie tells them about Alchemy and his powers, and Harry and Jessie end up deciding to stay a little longer to help her with her training. Barry and Iris end up trying to go on dates, and cute adorable Barry is back and it just warms my little heart 🙂
  4. We get two of Leonard Snart’s former accomplices come back and terrorize Central City – except they’ve been affected by the particle accelerator explosion, so they’re now Mirror Master (he can move and manipulate anything with a reflection) and Top (she can induce vertigo in anyone). Flash and Jessie Quick work together with the others and everything goes smoothly, but its the rest of the episode that’s interested. Barry finally decides to move out of Joe’s after realising he can’t deal with him and Iris being affectionate around each other at home (let’s be honest, it’s an odd situation), Caitlin’s powers appear to be getting stronger, Wally and Jessie decide to be friends with a little kissy-kissy on the side, but eventually Harry and Jessie decide to go back to Earth-2. But they decide that the team needs a Harrison Wells, so they put out a riddle to the multiverse and end up choosing HR, a Harrison Wells from Earth-19 to take Harry’s place.
  5. Caitlin decides to go see her mother, a scientist in cryogenics and they manage to patch up some of their relationship while trying to find a cure for Caitlin. Unfortunately, the more she uses them, they less they can be revered. Meanwhile, a teenager with a holographic monster starts terrorising the city, and Barry and Julian start understanding each other a bit more when they work together. Oh and Cisco and the team realise that HR has been lying to them. He’s only one part of a two man team, he’s the innovator and the other is the scientist, which means that when it comes to science, he is no help whatsoever. But the team is all for second chances, so they give him time to prove himself.

Arrow Season 05 E01-06
Look, so much happens, but so little happens in the first 6 episodes that I’m going to make it one big paragraph and pray that you guys keep reading! As a side note and before I forget, this seasons flashbacks revolve around Oli and his time in Russia with Bratva and his quest to kill Kovar (who he promised the Russian chick in season 4 he would kill). These scenes are sooooooooo boring, but hey, his wig is finally somewhat attractive, so we gotta keep watching.

Anyway, Oli, Felicty and Curtis end up recruiting three new people into team Arrow (after lots and lots of deliberation), Rene Ramirez (Wild Dog), Evelyn Sharp (the wannabe Black Canary from Season 4, now called Starling) and Rory Regan (Ragman, who has this cool 2000 year old rag thing that protects him from the Haven Rock missile disaster and allows him to fight). Oli is mayor and trying to deal with everything that comes with it, Thea is his Chief of Staff and decides to hire alcoholic Quentin Lance as the Deputy Mayor. He also has a Anti Crime Unit that reports directly to Oli to avoid corruption and a reporter that will not leave is back (but still wants to get in bed with him). Felicity is dating Billy, a SCPD detective, oh and Diggle is caught, framed and put in jail for a war crime his CO committed, but of course, is broken out of prison by Oli and Lyla, and is back on team Arrow. Now amongst all this mess, Church tries and almost combines the drug organisations from 5 cities under his control but is caught by the police and is killed by a masked man who calls himself Prometheus – who’s of course, after the Green Arrow, and knows it’s Oli. And to mess with Oli’s head, he starts playing games with him but killing people who’s names are anagrams of names that were originally in Oli’s fathers book and uses throwing stars made out Oli’s arrows collected over the years :/ However, the most jaw dropping moment happened at the end of episode 6, when we’re lead to believe that Quentin is Prometheus! Shit, my mind was blown!

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 02 E01-05
Oh my god my brain! As previously mentioned multiple times, I hate time travel so I’m going to spend as small amount of time trying to go through these episodes:

  1. Professor Nate Haywood (a historian) comes to Oli and tells him the Legends are in danger and have possibly died with an atomic bomb in 1942, 3 years before the bomb was actually created. They manage to find the Waverider and Mick submberged in the ocean and hear of the tale of the Legends fixing aberrations in time for the last 6 months, till they realise that Einsteins ex-wife, along with Damian Darhk, have been helping the Germans build an atomic bomb for them. All goes well until the bomb is detonated at the Waverider and Rip removes scatters everyone from the ship all across time, puts Mick in stasis and sacrifices himself to ensure the bomb doesn’t kill anyone. Anyway, Nate and Mick end up going through time and getting back each member of the team except Rip, and stop the bomb being created at all – and that’s when we find out that the Reverse Flash, aka Eobard Thawne, is back and working with Darhk. Oh and we meet the Justice Society of America.
  2. The teams both decide for the Legends to leave 1942 but then are pulled back into it when a Nazi Major gets his hand on some super serum in exchange for an amulet Hitler was seeking from Thawne. Anyway, the teams work together, Nate almost dies but is saved by a modified serum, stop the Major and Hitler getting the amulet and all go back to their usual jobs, until Rex from the JSA is killed by the Reverse Flash. Oh and Sara is now Captain Sara of the Waverider.
  3. The Vixen rocks up on the ship accusing them of Rex’s murder, but they assure her they didn’t do it, so she ends up sticking around, trying to find his killer. The modified serum that Nate gets turns him into a metal man (woo superpowers!) and they all end up in Japan in the 17th century, battling a war lord that gets his hands on Ray’s Atom suit. In the end, Nate learns to control his powers, the Atom suit is destroyed and Martin and Jax find Rip’s hidden compartment with a message from 2056 Barry Allen. *messed up yet?*
  4. Mississippi during the Civil war, and Jax and Vixen (Amaya) have to deal with the horrors that happened to African Americans. To make matters worse, there’s a virus spreading, turning dead men into zombies which ends up with the Confederates winning. Anyway, everything turns out fine, Mick gives Ray the Captain Cold gun and 2056 Barry tells Jax and Martin that a war is coming – yea that’s not ominous at all.
  5. Darhk has become the special advisor for President Reagan and could have repercussions as to the ending of the Cold War and the Legends plus Vixen know something is up. They discover that Darhk has planted a bomb at a State Dinner and getting help from the last JSA operative, Obsidian, they manage to stop the bomb and take a magical object from Darhk. Sara also decides not to get her revenge on Darhk for killing her sister, but instead tells him about his future and the pain it holds. Here’s the interesting part – Reverse Flash puts Darhk in a device and opens up a time portal, taking them both through. Don’t ask me what, why or how, because I have no idea, but I’m assuming questions will be answered soon.

Once Upon a Time E07
Ok, so this week was all about Snow and Charming and the Evil Queen tells them that unless they give up their hearts to her, she will kill everyone in the town by giving them water from the River of Lost Souls. Of course, the heroes try to find other ways to beat her, like a sampling made from a spark for true love (conveniently the same one that grew when Snow and Charming unknowingly met for the first time) but things don’t work, so the two go to give their hearts and save the town. But the Evil Queen has something else in mind, when she takes the hearts but gives them back, putting Snow in a deep sleep. But the heroes are smart cookies and Charming finds Snow again, and kisses her, only to wake her and fall asleep himself. So now both of them are alive, but neither is awake when the other is. Yea it’s a little messed up, but I can see the Evil Queen’s evil plan, it’ll drive them crazy. Oh also, thanks to Zelena, Belle finds out Rumples plans to cut her babys future away from him so that he can have a relationship with the baby, selfish much? But the best moment by far was when Regina tells the heroes that she thinks the Evil Queen and Rumple are a “thing” because of some unresolved tension, and OMG their FACES! So disgusted, it was the single best thing about the episode 😀

Supergirl E05
This week was fairly funny when Kara brings Mon-El (now Mike Matthews) as an intern to Cat Co and he has to deal with Earth technology and women of course. Meanwhile, Jimmy starts trying to be a vigilante as well and manages to convince Winn to help him after they both realise that they don’t need to have superpowers to help fight alongside Kara. Now here’s the most important part: we find out that Cadmus is arming thieves with alien technology so in order to catch them where Kara is failing, Lena Luthur holds a Gala inviting the richest and most influential, giving the thieves the opportunity to steal again and get caught. Thanks to Winn’s help, Lena manages to activate a device destroying the weapons and allowing Kara to round them up, ending everything nicely with a bow on top. And this is where it gets juicy – it’s Lena Luthor’s own mother that is the head of Cadmus and was supplying the weapons!!!!!
OMG WHAAAAAT! But then it all makes sense, she says she wants to protect her son and daughter from alien invasions, and that’s Lex and Lena! My brain exploded momentarily before wondering if Lena would be somehow convinced to join her cause, and I would hope not because if Superman can barely take on Lex, how is Supergirl supposed to take on Lena, Mrs. Luthor AND Cadmus?!

Quantico E06
A few things happened this week, but in the flash backs at the Farm, the students have to learn to make decisions about using drones to take out threats and Alex has to deal with the 1 year anniversary of Simon’s death. Harry tells Ryan that rather than the three of them talking about their secrets, the MI6 and FBI superiors will discuss it all, leaving these three to deal with the Farm. Leon and Shelby are doing the nasty in hotel rooms and Nimah suggests Shelby going undercover as well to investigate Leon seeing as Alex and Ryan are coming up with nothing. Oh and Owen asks Lydia to investigate the list of names he gets of the agents that outted him. Back in the present (or is this the future and the Farm is the present???) The CIA agents being held are trying to figure out any connections amongst them and unfortunately, Leigh is killed off for being in Jakarta I think and Dayana and Raina are taken off to be questioned. But turns out that Raina has been help captive and Nimah is the one that has been trying to get the CIA recruits to talk – WTF is going on?! I don’t know who is on which side anymore! Oh and Lydia is working for the terrorists too and takes the drives with CIA secrets in them, leaving Alex tied up and alarms ringing. This show I tell ya, they better give me some answers because I hate all these unanswered questions!

How to Get Away with Murder E08
Oh boy oh boy. Wes gets supoena-ed and is requested at a hearing for Mahoney seniors murder, and Wes releases his psychology reports in order to have a psych evaluation and be cleared to go to the hearing – enough to delay the hearing and allow Frank to find out who was Charles’ alibi. Turns out that Charles’ spent the night with a woman called Lisa, the same woman who paid Frank to hurt Annalise and kill her baby, so naturally, Laurel, Frank, Nate, Annalise and Bonnie and all pull some shady shit and manage to get her alibi for Charles’ thrown out, freeing Wes. In the meantime, Asher and Michaela talk about her mum and Connor and Ollie fight about their relationship. Now here comes the juicy party: Frank finally comes face to face with Annalise since everything has gone down and tries to apologise (he’s all mopey and crying), but she isn’t having it, so he says he can fix it, pulls out a gun and holds it to his head. That scene ends with Annalise yelling at him to do it and Bonnie screaming not too. And THEN, we come to the present where Asher, Michaela, Oliver all come to Bonnie and demand to know if Annalise knows who’s dead in her house. And, Connor is safe – he;’s in fact hacing sexy times with Oliver’s kinda boyfriend Thomas. So now, is it Frank???!!! Did he actually kill himself and in order to cover it up, Annalise burns her own home?! But then why was she so upset when she sees her house burning? Is it all a lie, or is Nate in there??? WHO KNOWS, but next week is the mid-season finale so I guess we finally get to find out who’s dead!

The Walking Dead E03 – Norman Reedus acted his butt off in an episode that focused on him, Negan, Dwight and life under Negan’s rule. Oh and Darryl refuses to work under Negan, so I’m slightly concerned as to what Negan will do to him now.

NCIS: LA E07 – We had Mexican cartels killing people by feeding them to the sharks, Granger is sick and Kensi refuses to accept Deek’s proposal as she learns to stand again.

The Big Bang Theory E08 – The first genuinely funny episodes in a long time when Raj seduces the Cuban cleaning lady at CalTech and Sheldon tries to seduce Amy when he realises they could create a genius baby. Sheldon had me giggling for a while, so good!

Supernatural E05 – Hitler is reborn when the Nazis get a hold of a horcrux (writers words, not mine) and Dean kills Hitler *I’m very aware of how ridiculous this sounds, but ask anyone in the fandom, this is normal I promise you*.

My Brain is Melting Part 2

Part 2 of me trying to catch up on TV, and to be honest, I’m quite proud of my efforts, considering in two weeks I’ve watched everything except The FlashArrow and Legend’s of Tomorrow. Its not like I’ll give up without a fight, though the changes of someone finding me in my room with my brain all turned to smush is highly likely, so can someone please warn my mother??

NCIS: LA Season 8 E01-06
So the beginning of season started with a double episode, which results in the team heading to Syria to catch an arms dealer. During the operation, their helicopter was shot down, and Kensi was injured, losing a lot of blood and going into a coma. Poor Deeks was just about to propose but has to put it on hold while she recovers in the hospital and comes to term with the permanent aspects of her injury, and whether she can ever be an agent again. While this is happening, the Undersecretary of Defense takes over the NCIS office in order to catch the mole that has evaded NCIS for a while. Of course, Hetty confesses to being the mole, gets arrested and taken DC, only to make a deal with the Secretary of Defense to catch the mole in 90 days. Once she gets the office back in her hands, she gets Sam to go talk to Carl Brown, a man they had arrested for being the mole, but now think was working for someone else. Turns out there was, a lovely lady called Natalie Grant. And amidst all of this, Nell and Anna (now working as a US Marshall) pair up with Deeks while Kensi is in the hospital recooperating. You really feel for Deeks in the episodes, not sure how he should be helping Kensi and worrying if he can do this for her, it’s going to be interesting to see what Kensi can do post-hospital.

Quantico Season 2 E01-05
So much happens in the first 5 episodes, and yet, it’s petty easy to summarise. Turns out that Alex never really gets fired from the FBI because Miranda has a plan with the CIA director to place her at the CIA training facility, called The Farm, to spy on instructor Owen Hall and see whether he is recruiting people for a group called The Faction or the AIC. To make matters more complicated, Ryan also joins her there for the same mission and Nimah and Shelby are their handlers. They’re starting to navigate their relationship as well as look into Owen, his CIA operative daughter Lydia, and fellow classmates: MI6 agent Harry, South African layer Dayana, Mexican photographer Leon, business woman and mother Leigh and Asian-American pastor Sebastian. Each week, they learn a new skill and somehow, get to cleverly apply it to whatever and whoever they’re investigating that week, but it seems that someone else in the house has been investigating them as well, and Harry catches onto their shenanigans as well.

Now in typical Quantico fashion, The Farm stuff all occurs a year ago, and currently, the G20 Summit in Manhattan has been hijacked by a group called the Citizens Liberation Front, holding over 1700 hostages in a 5 block radius. Of course, dear old Alex is in the blockade but not a hostage, so does all she can to get to the bottom of it, while Raina, Ryan, Lydia and all their CIA recruits are in the building too. After Alex calls Miranda, Miranda tells the Front that Alex is inside, and they demand Eric Boyer, a recently pardoned hacker to be brought inside, in exchange for 1600 hostages. The hostages are released, but Miranda asks Shelby to bring in Will Olsen to find out what they want with a hacked, and Shelby is tipped off that Miranda is part of the Front. Episode 5 ends with Will talking to Miranda saying that he wants to be a part of the Front as well and Alex finding Lydia, somehow escaping from the Front’s hostage hold. Now I don’t really know what to believe, because the writers and directors have a way of manipulating the audience to believe something, only to turn around the next episode and have the characters change sides. But I’m keen for this; I really want Miranda to be bad, I just feel she’s a lot better as a negative character than positive one.

Supergirl Season 2 E01-04
SHE’S BACK! I was very happy to have Kara and her gang back on TV and apart from a few niggling things that I don’t like, we’re off to a great start. We’re finally introduced to Superman, have a new love interest for Kara in the form of Mon-El from Daxam, Krypton’s sister planet (which is so obvious, anyone could have spotted it), Lex Luthers’ adopted sister, Lena Luther (who appears to be nice, for now), and a new evil organisation, Cadmus, aiming to destroy aliens and give humans superhero powers. Cat Grant decides to leave Cat Co (which I still can’t get over), Jimmy Olsen becomes the new Cat, Kara decides to become a reporter, Winn leaves Cat Co and gets a job at the DEO and Alex starts a friendship *wink wink* with NCPD Detective Maggie Sawyer who deals with alien and metahuman cases. Also, Hank discovers that there is another female Green Martian in National City, just adding to the confusion that already exists for him. All in all, I think it was an alright start but there are three things that annoyed me. Number 1 – after pining for Jimmy for the latter half of the first season, Kara gets chance to finally date him only to realise that she is confused and thinks they’d be better as friends? What? Talk about leading a man on, that’s so not fair for Jimmy! Number 2 – After Kara totally friend-zoned Winn last season, how is he suddenly so ok with being totally involved in her life when hardly a few months ago, he was in love with her? And finally Number 3 – Why on EARTH would you get rid of Cat just when she really started becoming a true mentor to Kara? Kara needs someone to help her along the way, someone who doesn’t know she’s Supergirl, and now they’ve taken that away. Either way, the episodes are still fun an Kara is still bubbly and loveable, so guess I’ll be sticking it out for the rest of the season.

How to Get Away with Murder E02-07
Alright, so here’s what we’ve learned so far in the flashforward scenes: Annalise comes to her home at night to find it up in flames and a body being removed from it. She finds Ollie and tells him to wipe her phone as she gets arrested and Bonnie is alive as well. Turns out that there is one more person that was found in the house as well, and it turns out to be a Laurel, who gets taken to the hospital and they find out she’s pregnant. Meanwhile, we find out that the dead body is male, Ollie tries and fails to get a hold of Connor and Michaela manages to find Asher safe. Annalise is getting charged with arson and first degree murder and turns out that Wes is the one giving the cops information to get Annalise, in exchange for immunity. So we’ve now narrowed the dead people down to Frank, Connor, Nate or some other male character, but I’m getting worried for Connor at this point. I also think it could be Nate, because she was exceptionally emotional during it all, showing emotions only someone would feel if they lost someone they truly loved

The episodes: Annalise goes through a bit of shit when the Board tries to suspend her for all the flyers getting put up around campus, but after they find out she slapped a client, they have her licence suspended and are only willing to have her reinstated as a professor when she admits to being an alcoholic and starts getting help for it. It doesn’t stop there, Nate breaks up with her, we finally get a bit more background about her miscarriages, her marriage and her relationship with Frank and she lets the Keating 5 finally tell her about how they really feel. Relationship wise, everyone knows about Asher and Michaela, Ollie and Connor break up, date others for a bit but then end up hooking up again, and Wes breaks up with Meggie and starts having a secret relationship with Laurel. Frank has been on the run, but is trying to prove that he wants to come back home to help Annalise, but his methods are a bit dd. He kills the hitman/PI Annalise hired to find him, ends up killing Bonnie’s incarcerated father, sleeps with Bonnie then ditches her, frames Charles Mahoney for his fathers murder (taking Wes off the suspect list, even though Charles has an alibi) and rocks up to Laurels house after being thrown out by Bonnie and hearing Laurel say that she loves Wes. All up, Frank is a little messed up and once I learned about his stint in jail and his relationship with Annalise and Sam, I’m really confused as to whether I like him or not. All in all, the season is as twisted and gripping as the last, and I’m assuming that in the next few weeks, we’ll be caught up to the flashforward scenes, and we’ll know who’s really dead.

NCIS E02-06
You’d think after having such a good cast for 14 years, NCIS would struggle with adopting new characters and having the same chemistry with them as their predecessors, but for once this was not the case, at least in my opinion. The last 5 episodes were filled with Nick Torres and Alex Quinn getting used to their special agent roles now as well as the dynamics the team already has. We also learn a bit more about Alex Quinn and her backstory, and MI6 agent Clayton helps them on a case or two. Gibbs’ headslap makes a comeback and McGee proposes to Delilah in the NCIS elevator, which were lovely moments, incorporating little pieces of the show together to make the viewers realise that although there may only be a few original cast members left, the show is the same as before.

Agents of SHIELD E06
So many things were answered in this episode, I was actually quite pleased with the episode, didn’t leave me scratching my head like it usually did J So we finally learn what happened the night Robbie turns into Ghost Rider – Robbie takes Gabriel with him to a street race, only to get ambushed on the way but a gang/hitmen, resulting in a crash. He actually dies on the scene, while Gab is seriously injured, but they’re saved when the devil comes and offers a chance for Robbie get revenge and kill the men that did this to them. Robbie tells Gabriel all of this on the Quinjet, whilst in hiding with Daisy, as Director Mace tries and succeeds to find them.  After getting in a fight, and gab telling the Ghost Rider to stop beating up Mace, the director finally agrees with Coulson to use Robbie to hunt down Lucy after Fitz discovers a link between Roxxam, Zero Matter and Dark Force (remember season 2 of Agent Carter) and a lab that has the power to successfully allow the machine they were creating to work. But here, we find out that Eli is the one that had killed everyone in order to get the book and the power that came with it. After Joe discovered that Eli had killed the rest of their team members, he ordered the hit on Eli, only for Robbie and Gab to be in the car instead. Eli finds out and beats Joe into a coma but doesn’t end up find out where the book is, and thus, ends up in jail. But the episode ends with Eli entering the machine, the experiment working and him stepping out, creating a block of carbon out of thin air, something scientifically and physically impossible. This stuff is so messed up, but dammit I’m hooked.

Once Upon a Time E06
Hahaha I’m completely losing it with this show because each week, it’s getting more and more ridiculous. This week, we meet Captain Nemo and his first mate Liam, who just happens to be Hooks little half-brother. Bth the past and present stpry lines are unnecessarily complicated, but in the end, Liam forgives Hook and everyone is alive and well in Storybrooke. The main ending for this story is that Hook and Henry’s relationship is slowly building and together, they get rid of the shears – and Hook tells Emma what he did, which she forgives (very logically might I add). In the other, non-interesting stories this week, Regina, Snow and Charming rescue Archie, Emma helps Aladdin help Jasmine fix Agrabah and the Evil Queen manages to somehow get the shears and give them to Rumple (who wants to use them on Belle and the baby) and the Evil Queens all she wants is Rumple to herself (and they kiss which is so gross on so many levels) and Snow’s heart. Basically, nothings changed, complicated as ever.

The ones that weren’t worth mentioning: Supernatural E04 (Dean deals with his mum needing space and is too cute), The Walking Dead E02 (All about Carol and Morgan, kinda boring but we see The Kingdom and it’s King Ezekiel… weird), The Big Bang Theory E07 (Amy and Sheldon decide to move in together!).

My Brain is Melting Part 1

Welcome back everyone! For those that aren’t in the loop, I went away for a little while and when I got back, I had something like 60 episodes of TV to catch up on, so bear with me for a few weeks while I get my life together as well as start watching all these shows. I did my best this week, but my brain did melt after a little while, so apologies for this ridiculously long post. Obvs, if you haven’t seen the season premieres yet and still want to without spoilers, for the love of GOD don’t read what I’ve written because there are plenty of spoilers below. Enjoy!

Halt and Catch Fire E07-10
Holey dooley, the last four episodes of season 3 really took a turn when Joe gets fired and Ryan takes it in his stead to release the source code for the antivirus program for free online, resulting in the FBI chasing him down. The pressure of getting arrested too much for Ryan and he commits suicide by jumping out of Joe’s balcony, really affecting Joe and his motivation for the NSFNET.
He ends up giving it all to Gordon who in turn, runs the network and becomes quite successful in doing so. Cameron and Donna’s partnership comes to an end with Cameron leaves Mutiny after they all decide to make the company go public, which ends up being the wrong decision as the stock prices plummet and the company closes down altogether. We have a time jump of four years and we discover that Cameron and Tom have moved to Japan and the game Cameron creates has done really well, leading her to return to COMDEX and run into Joe, where they spend a night together 😉 Donna becomes a senior partner in Diane’s VC firm and has divorced Gordon but has come up with a new idea and would like to propose it to their original team – and that’s what happens. Joe, Gordon, Tom, Cam and Donna get together and Joe sees the potential in creating a web browser for the internet, much like the one CERN uses, allowing users to access the internet, but Tom doesn’t seem to agree with the idea and they have a fight. The season ends with Cam telling Donna that she can’t work with her again because of their history and Donna gives the project to her, Gordon and Joe to work on, while decides to contact CERN and possibly come up with a competing idea on her own. This season has been an amazing one with all the characters developing individually and becoming less like an interdependent group and more like a group of individuals working together, something they have lacked in their past projects. I’m also keen to see how Donna comes back from this event and competes against the three, considering she’s come so far from season one, I’d like to see her fight and show them what she’s made of 🙂
i love you halt and catch fire hacf kerry bishe donna clarke

The Big Bang Theory E02-06
I had to catch up on 5 episodes when I got back and things are really moving fast for everyone. Bernie and Howard are getting excited for their baby (along with third-wheel parent Raj) and are starting to get the house ready for the new baby, while Bernie deals with her career and pregnancy. Amy’s apartment gets flooded so she moves in with Sheldon into Penny’s apartment while Penny and Leonard get to finally live together as a married couple in the boys’ apartment. All the episodes have been sufficiently funny, but that’s it, sufficiently funny. I’m waiting for an episode to have me on the floor laughing and if they don’t do that this season, I think it’s time for this season to be their last.

New Girl E02-05
I don’t really have much to write about these 4 episodes, they were funny as the group negotiates voting, long distance relationships, glamping and being single, New York City (special cameos from the cast of Brooklyn 99), a new housemate and Cece and Schmidt’s new house. I like the way things are going this season, definitely making up for the lull in the last few seasons.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD E02-05
Damn, this show is so hard to review if you have to do more than 2 episodes! I’ll try and summarise as best I can, but I apologise for anything I may miss :/ We get to meet the new Director of SHIELD, a Mr. Jeffrey Mace, a politician, who decides to reveal SHIELD as an active organisation and himself as an Inhuman when a Senator (who’s name I can’t remember) starts to threaten SHIELD for only protecting Inhumans and not normal people. This comes about after the Watchdogs start shutting down electronics in big cities and targeting and killing Inhumans. But turns out she has her own secrets and blackmails him at the end of episode 5 when she finds out about the activities of his agents and Robbie Reyes. And now we get to Robbie, or the Ghost Rider. He and his brother were shot at on a street, resulting in his brother’s becoming paralysed. In order to get revenge, he sells his soul to the devil but can’t seem to return to his old self so goes around looking for “bad guys” in the hopes that if he gets rid of enough, he can have his soul back. Now he starts working together with Daisy, and eventually Mack, Coulson, May, Fitz and Simmons once he realises that his uncle, Eli, was involved in the incident that has brought about these ‘ghosts’. May is having hallucinations after the ‘ghost’ touches her and Simmons and Dr Radcliffe realise that the only way to save May is by killing her temporarily so that her brain can reboot, and in turn, Fitz creates injections that can essentially stop the ‘ghosts’ magic from creating hallucinations in their victims minds. The team then find out that Eli was helping a group of scientists create a device called a Quantum Particle Generator by using a book called the Dark Hold or the Book of Sins. It’s an evil book that even Director Fury kept hidden. Turns out that the ‘ghosts’ had all died in an explosion and now that they’ve been resurrected, the lead ‘ghost’ Lucy, goes and finds the book, aiming to complete what they had started, and kidnap Eli so that they can read it and continue their work. That’s the best summary I can give right now, I know it’s not the best, but when they do so much and you only have so much time – this is the result.

Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 1
So I got really excited for this show when I went away and couldn’t wait that long, so I downloaded while I was in the middle of Norway and started watching it on my train journeys across the country, and man, I am so glad that I did! The show follows Luke Cage, an African-American man, living in Harlem trying to stay away from trouble by keeping his head down and working. Luke actually has a role in Jessica Jones so we know he has indestructible skin and is very, very strong, but we get to find out his backstory, how he gets his powers, his time in jail and the relationship he has with his wife. The show is dark, funny at times and gritty, with really deep characters and fantastic acting from the “negative” characters. Claire Temple (the nurse from Daredevil and Jessica Jones) is back as well, and I really like the way she ties in everything in the Netflix/Marvel shows, a normal human that is simply there to help the supers and offer support and moral guidance. Anyway, keeping it short, it’s a brilliant show and I can’t wait to see what they do with the next show, Iron Fist, as well as tying it in with the rest of the MCU.

Once Upon a Time Season 06 E01-05
Oh god, we got 5 mins of peace and quiet before they thrust us into the chaos that is this season already. Why do I even bother with reviewing it every week, it’s so INSANE! Here’s a short summary of what happened in every episode, because if I even tried to put it all in one paragraph, the paragraph would be the size of my foot:

Episode 1: We get a flashback to Jafar and Aladdin, Emma starts getting tremours and visions where she’s sword fighting a figure in a hood and she dies (where did she learn to fight with swords?!). A dirigible lands in Storeybrooke with the people from the Land of Untold Stories, the Evil Queen is still alive, the team manage to capture Hyde and imprison him, Belle wakes up from her dream after getting true love kiss from her son in her dream (go figure) and tells Rumple she wants nothing to do with him. Oh and Zelena and baby Robyn are living with Regina. Messed up yet?

Episode 2: The Evil Queen had hired the Count of Monte Cristo to kill Snow and Charming so when he lands up in Storeybrooke, he tried to kill them again, but Regina comes to the rescue and kills him first. The Evil Queen gets to Charming by talking about his fathers’ death and Emma starts talking to Archie, the psychologist, aka Jiminy Cricket, about her tremours and vision and realises that the only person in the vision that isn’t unhooded is Regina/Evil Queen. Oh and some Oracle tells Emma that her visions are that of her future, where she dies.

Episode 3: Cinderella is back and we find out about her not-so-bad-step-sister, truly evil step-mother and their whole relationship. I’m not going to get into the details but it all works out in the end. Emma and Hook decide to move in together, and Hyde and the Evil Queen start working together to wreak some havoc.

Episode 4: A woman call Shireen starts working as Snows teaching assist in school, and turns out its Jasmine, who is looking for Aladdin with the help of the Oracle. Gold decides that he has to protect Belle because Hyde is out to get him so he traps her on the Jolly Roger with a spell. Dr Jekyll creates a serum to kill Hyde but of course Hyde and the Evil Queen are too smart for everyone and the plan goes to shit. We also find out about Jekyll and Hyde’s backstory and the fact that Jekyll is actually the bad one, killing the woman he loves – and just about this time we realise that he’s being “protected” by Gold spell from Hyde. He starts to attack Belle but Hook comes just in time to save Belle and kills Jekyll. And this is the point that everyone realises that to kill the doppelgänger, they have to kill the original, meaning that poor Regina needs to be removed for the Evil Queen to really be gone.
Episode 5: We finally get to Aladdin and Jasmines’ story! In order to save Agrabah from Jafar, Jasmine gets Aladdin to discover that he is the Saviour and he saves Agrabah, but is also given a set of shears from Jafar, and told that he can sever his magic from him and continue to live as a normal person and not as a Saviour. Back in Storeybrooke, the Oracle is found killed and Jasmine has to reveal herself to the heroes to prove she didn’t kill her. The heroes manage to find Aladdin – in a crypt in Storeybrooke, dead, but turns out Aladdin have just been hiding and is well and truly alive, though he did use the shears to sever his magic. He gives the shears to Emma who gives them to Hook to get rid of, but knowing that the woman he loves has a chance to live, he keeps them (riiiiight after she tells everyone about her tremours and visions and says to never have secrets…) Oh and the Evil Queen and Zelena have gotten together and kidnapped Jiminy so that the Evil Queen can impersonate him and learn about the heroes plans from Emma.

Supernatural Season 12 E01-03
So remember when you’re binge watching a show and the part comes on that says “Previously on Supernatural”? Well I was really glad for it when Supernatural started up again because I completely forgot that THE DARKNESS BROUGHT MARY WINCHESTER BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!! Once you get past that, the other three episodes are pretty simple. Sam gets kidnapped and tortured by a woman from the UK Men of Letters division but is rescued by Dean, Mary and Cas as well as another member of the division. He says that the woman was out of bounds, but they want to extend a hand to the boys and work together to remove the supernatural threat from the US. Crowley blackmails Rowena into helping him find and destroy Lucifer, but Rowena manages to get Luci and temporarily harm his vessel, leaving Cas and Crowley to find him again and destroy him. Oh and Mary has to deal with being gone for 30 years and come back to a completely different world with no husband and two grown up sons. I don’t blame her when she decides to leave the boys and take some time to herself at the end of episode 3 but you can feel the heartbreak that Dean is going through, he gets to have his mum back for a few weeks before she goes again, poor baby 😦

The Walking Dead Season 07 E01
OH MY GOD, IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE EPISODE, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN SO YOU DON’T FIND OUT WHO DIES IN THE SEASON PREMIERE.
It’s Abraham. AND GLENN! WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!?!?! So from the end of the last season, we know that Negan kills someone as compensation for the group killing his men, and he decides to go with big badass Abe, and beats him to a pulp while everyone that watches him looks on. Darryl loses his shit and tries to attack Negan for the horrible man that he is, but that is SO NOT ADVISED because Negan decides that he should kill another person for this insubordination (a way over the top decision) and decides to kill poor, sweet, innocent, angelic Glenn. WHY DO YOU DO THIS?? Poor Maggie is sitting watching the love of her life get his head pummelled in by a baseball bat, all the while internally dying because something is wrong with her baby and she needs to get medical attention. My heart was breaking for her. And then Negan, (who I’m really hating right now) doesn’t like the look of defiance Rick has in his eyes so almost makes Rick chop off Carl’s arm, but stops just before he does, saying that “that was the look I was looking for”. You can see the defeat in Rick’s eyes (someone give that man an award), as he realises that it may be impossible to beat a man so vile and cruel. Man, if people want to learn about how to write an episode after a cliff-hanger, they need to take lessons from these guys.

And that’s me for this week. I’m hoping to get a few more shows done next week, but I will be keeping all the DC super shows for the week after because I want to do them all in one shot because in a few weeks there’s a huge crossover and I want to be ready for it 🙂 Until then!

Unfinished and Unanswered

My friends, this is the last post I’ll be making for a few weeks, so don’t forget all those dates (in last weeks post) and make sure you start watching all the new seasons about to start! A few started up this week, which was nice of them to ease me in, my reviews are below!

Mr. Robot E12 (Season Finale)
GOD DAMN THIS SHOW! They left it hanging and we have to wait another 10 months before we find out what the hell is going on! We have three main story lines in this episode, and each one is as gripping as the other with different kind of tensions between all the characters.
First, we see Joanna find out that it was in fact ECorps CTO sending her the gifts and phone *for those that don’t remember, his wife is the one that Tyrell killed*. He sends all the stuff to give hope to Joanna and then make her suffer, just like he did when his wife and unborn child were killed. In a fit of rage, he beats her up but realises what he;s done and calls an ambulance. The next scene with Joanna is with her boyfriend, who turns out worked at the ECorp function the same night Tyrell killed the woman. She tells him that the only thing he can do to help is go to the police and tell them that it was Mr. CTO who he saw leave the roof last, putting the blame on him rather than Tyrell.
Second, we have the amazing dynamic between Agent Dom DiPierro and Darlene – oh yes, she’s alive! Unfortunately, Cisco dies in the shooting, and Dom and her boss try everything to get under her skin and get her to talk. Unfortunately, nothing works, so Dom takes Darlene to their “room”, filled with evidence against fsociety and ECorp and a giant mind map filled with all the information and ties the FBI have found between Elliot, Darlene, Tyrell, Angela, Romero, Trentin, Mobley and literally EVERYONE. At this point Darlene realises how far forward the FBI are and the fact that they’ve known everything about everyone and are just biding their time, waiting patiently to find the right moment to catch everyone. But in true Mr. Robot fashion, they leave us hanging, wondering what Darlene’s reaction is to this information.

Third, we find out what Stage 2 is, FINALLY! Tyrell takes Elliot to a loft where he shows the Dark Army’s set up for them, directly outside a large building. Elliot gets shown schematics but he can’t figure out what’s going on, until Tyrell mentions the backdoor that Elliot’s 5/9 hack left them. Through a series of events (that I’m not going to explain because I really don’t get), Stage 2 involves putting a piece of malware in ECorp’s system that causes stackload of batteries to explode, resulting in enough power to level the entire building. But which building you say? Oh, the one across the road that ECorp is conveniently placing all their paper records in to avoid another hack. Elliot cannot believe that this is happening and tries to stop the malware, realising that Mr. Robot had made these plans with the Dark Army since the hack and was lying about Tyrells death the whole time. Or was he? Now at this point, Elliot thinks that Tyrell is another distraction from Mr. Robot, a warping of reality but realises his mistake when Tyrell shoots him in the stomach, stopping him from deleting the malware. He falls to the ground, with Tyrell telling him that Elliot had told him to stop him at any cost and the episode ends with Angela taking a call from Tyrell saying that the Dark Army told her he’d call and she should be the first one Elliot sees when he wakes up.

OH MY GOD, what kind of finale is that?! It’s like a half-cliffhanger episode, we know Elliot survives, but what the hell is the Dark Army playing at. Do they want to destroy all of ECorps records for how CEO Price has used and manipulated White Rose and the Chinese government? Or is there another reason for the plan??? And what about Darlene, is she going to help Dom? And to catch who? ECorp or Dark Army? And how does the Washington Township contamination incident tie into everything????

Halt and Catch Fire E06
Things don’t go exactly to plan for Joe and Ryan, things start out so well! They start setting up the hardware for the NFSNET regional network idea and also put in a bid to buy it, all in preparation for the changes to come in the next 5 years. They even manage to get one of the Board to convince the rest of them that it’s going to work and they give him approval. But then, at Joe’s deposition for his case against Gordon, his Board-friend comes and tells him that he found out Joe’s already in business with NSFNET and the Board had told him not to make any purchases or major changes. So he’s out, all of Joe’s power as CEO was removed, and he could quit, but he would have a 4 year non-compete. With nothing else left and in shock, Joe’s deposition starts where he admits to stealing the anti-virus software from Gordon, saying that “everything MacMillan Utility is built on is his” – is this Joe trying to get some of his power back by essentially saying that Gordon should be running it now???? Meanwhile, Cameron catches out Donna’s lie and fires Craig and Doug and Diane comes to them with a $20m buyout offer that she was given. But she senses that somethings not right with the two of them, and offers them to stay at her country hose, but only Donna accepts. So while Donna takes the weekend and gets high on shrooms with Diane’s daughter, Cam and Gordon bond over Mario, buying a new TV and she finds out about Gordon’s neuro-degenerative condition when he collapses. Gordon talks to Cam about Joe and she tells him about her marriage to Tom but not before she goes to Joe’s apartment and tells him to give Gordon credit and he congratulates her on her wedding. By the time Donna comes back from her weekend away, Cam moves out of the house but not mending her relationship with Donna. Oh and Diane and Bos get their freak on too 😉

The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Episode 01
The season starts Leonard and Penny getting married again in front of their friends and family including Penny’s mother and brother who we’ve never met before. Things get awkward when Leonard’s dad and Sheldon’s mum take a liking to each other in front of Leonard’s mum but all parties put their troubles aside to have one happy moment for the couple. Things are going well, and the episode was fairly funny, but I do hope they call it quits at the end of the season, 10 years is long enough.

New Girl Season 06 Episode 01
The gang is back! After a bit of a slump in the 4th season, last season picked the humour back up where they left off. Jess has to come to terms with her feelings for Nick while he’s going long distance with Regan and Winston and Aly are trying long distance while she trains for the FBI. But the funniest part comes when Schmidt and Cece now have to buy a house – and the harsh reality of buying a place they can afford versus buying the house they actually want really hit home. But hey, they get a place, and safe to say, everyone’s going to have a hilarious time trying to fix it up 🙂

NCIS Season 14 Episode 01
God, it is so weird not having Tony on the show! McGee gets the joy of taking over his desk, but just can’t bring himself to do it, and I can understand why. After 13 years of Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo living at that desk, you can’t just come in and take over, it takes time and patience. The teams case this weeks brings in two new characters – Special Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), an uptight undercover agent that gets caught up in a Argentian family and their terrorist antics, and Special Agent Alex Quinn (Jennifer Esposito), the agent in charge of probies. It’ll be nice to see how this new team functions without Tony, I’d be interested to see if his departure changes the tone of the show and its ratings :/

Agents of SHIELD Season 04 Episode 01
OMG there’s already a new villain – but he’s a good villain if that makes sense???? I don’t know which other way to put it, but basically Daisy has been tracking arms dealers and general bad guys and she comes across this man who drive an AWESOME car, who’s face burns off and is left with a flaming skull, the Ghost Rider. But of course, we find out that he’s actually a nice guy, with a warm heart and a handicapped brother. Oh also, he gets a chance to kill her but doesn’t because it’s the “skull” version that decides who dies and who doesn’t. Confused? I am. But back in the SHIELD headquarters, Simmons has been getting closer to the new Director (WHO IS IT?!) and no one is happy, May is struggling with her new role but gets information about Daisy’s whereabouts so sends Coulson and Mack to find her. They end up coming across a truck and a video that shows a box getting delivered to the Chinese but once they remove and open it – something in it (we see like a ghost or something talk to humans) turns everyone into savages and killing machines. The chinese say something about it beinging the “enhanced to their knees” but I dunno, seems like it brings a lot of people … to their deaths. Anyway Yoyo comes in for a bit to get some sexual tension going between her and Mack, and also help Daisy out, and Fitz meets Dr. Radcliffe, who shows him his AI robot Aida – and Fitz decides not to tell Simmons about it till its complete and perfect ie. not a killing machine that will get confiscated immediately. Looks like they’ve set up the season really well, can’t wait to get stuck into it! excited yay mr robot victory rami malek

How to Get Away with Murder Season 03 Episode 01
Funnily enough, they started this season with a few flashbacks, but nothing like what we’ve had before. So, I’ll start chronologically because it’s a little easier – Wes watches his father get shot in front of him at the end of season 2, so he gets questioned by the police and then picked up by Annalise. She says that Frank was the one who killed Maloney, setting both Annalise and Wes up for what had happened in the past. Throughout the summer, we see Annalise with the other Keating 5 – Asher asks her for money since being cut off from his mother and money and starts living in a dorm room (Mikaela and him are still hooking up), Connor makes Annalise promise not to hire Olli, Mikaela gets caught drink driving and Annalise cleans up the mess and Laurel goes to Mexico with her mum after Frank disappears and leaves her high and dry. All in all, the semester doesn’t start off too good, they’re each ranked in the bottom 10% of the class and Annalise gets her Intro to Law class taken from her and gets given a pro bono clinic where the students get to become real laywers with her assistance on cases. For the first case, Wes and Mikaela get the opportunity to be 1st and 2nd chair, but they unfortunately lose. Olli and Connor break up   but we also meet Wes’ new girlfriend, delightfully cheerful Meggy 🙂 Annalise also has to deal with someone putting up posters around campus with her face marked “killer” though she has no idea who it is. Frank is gone, but we find out that Annalise is having him followed by a PI – who Frank kills while he’s on the phone to her :/ Now here’s the good part: we get a “2 months later” scene, where Annalise arrives at her house to see it up in flames and an ambulance with a body. When she sees the body, the breaks down and the episode ends. Question 1: WHO’S DEAD *my bet’s on Nate* and question 2: WHO DID IT *my bet’s on Frank, but this is subject to change*. Looks like this season’s gonna be a doozy.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 1 and 2
So Brisbane was all grey, miserable and rainy this weekend so I did the only thing a sane person was – binge watch the Netflix show, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I’ll be honest, it’s not the most fantastic show, but it’s cute, endearing and well written. It follows Kimmy (Ellie Kemper), a girl that was kidnapped and held in a doomsday bunker with 3 other girls for 15 years but a crazy Reverend (Jon Hamm). But she’s rescued and moves to New York and starts living her life as a “normal” girl with her gay roommate, Titus (Tituss Burgess), her landlord, Lillian (Carol Kane) and her boss/friend, Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski). It’s a feel good show with heaps of puns, well thought out quips, and is a fine show to watch when you’re feeling down and need a pick me up. With 26 episodes, it won’t take too long so give it a go!

Suits E10
This was one of the most uncomplicated and simplest episodes I can remember, and even more so considering it was the mid-season finale. So Louis finds out that his girlfriend-who-has-another-boyfriend is pregnant with the others baby, but he still loves her, so he proposes to her and she says yes. Oh and Harvey offers Mike a job as a consultant at Pearson Specter Litt, which is kinda cute because let’s admit it, there’s a little bit of a bromance going on and Harv loves Mikey too much ha. Anyway, we focus on Jessica this episode and the hard decision she has to make to attend Leonard’s trial and try to free him, or attend a meeting with her oldest client and retain their business. Her first client starts to pull out because of the Sutter debacle, and the other clients start doing the same, but she realises why she became a lawyer when she stays with Leonard and manages to exonerate him with Rachel after the father of the victim admits to sending Leonard’s witness to a rehab facility to stop her testifying. Jessica realises that she doesn’t want to be a corporate lawyer anymore and tells the rest of her team, leaving Harvey absolutely devastated. But all good things for her, she goes to her ex boyfriend, Jeff, and asks him if she can accompany him to Chicago, which of course he agrees too. I want to give my thanks to Gina Torres for portraying Jessica Pearson with such fierceness and and poise. She was strong, proud and independent, yet still emotional and empathetic when she needed to be, an amazing role model for everyone wanting to have a career but still be a human being. That’s the end of Suits for a few months, they’ll be back in Jan for the rest of the season, it’ll be interesting what happens to the dynamics of the team without Ms Pearson.

Halt and Catch Fire E05
It’s the 4th of July weekend and everyone has a very interesting weekend. Donna and Gordon get the weekend together without Cameron and the girls so they relax and get to do stuff that they hadn’t done since having kids. Ray and Joe spend the weekend working together and Joe tells Ray to focus on NSFNET, a network that is currently bottlenecked but has the potential to grow in the future, something MacMillan Utilities can prepare for. We also see Joe get very emotional after finding out he could have HIV, but his test results come back negative (or so we hope so, he was smiling after he received the results but we dont’ actually hear what they are). Cameron and Bosworth go to Texas, Bosworth goes to see his grandson but gets in a fight with his son, and Cameron goes to a garage sale at her mothers house. A stranger buys her father motorcycle after she has a fight with Bosworth and she ends up at her ex’s house, Tom, and stays there for a week, leaving Donna with the decision to go with Doug and Craig’s solution for credit card transactions. Cameron returns a week later, furious that Donna gave the boys the go ahead without her consent but understands that she’s been a handful and apologises to Donna. But here’s the kicker – she calls Diane and finds out that Donna lied to her and has some kind of panic attack … but then lies down in bed and takes a ring from her pocket and puts it on her finger and smiled contentedly. WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN? Did she get engaged/married to Tom? Or is it her fathers ring? TELL ME!

Mr. Robot E11
I don’t even know what to write about this episode, it was SO BIZARRE! We only had 4 major story lines this week but none of them actually made sense and I just don’t get it, so please don’t expect me to give my opinions or a critical evaluation – because I don’t have one:

  1. Joanna’s henchman shows her the location of Tyrell’s phone, which she seems happy about.
  2. The CEO of ECorp, Phillip Price, gets $2 trillion from the Chinese government as bailout and sets up Ecoin as a new currency for banking loans, hoping to build the economy back up (but now all the power is in his hands :/ ).
  3. Dom is in the hospital after the shooting and tries to convince her boss that the Dark Army and China needs to be investigated with full force but he tells her that after China’s bailout money, the government won’t allow it, even after the two shootings.
  4. Angela is taken in a van, to a house, put in a dark room and questioned by a physically tortured girl who types up all the answers on an old-school computer. After her “test”, White Rose comes in and talks to her, about her mothers death and the Washington Township plant incident and how her’s and Elliot’s father died for the greater good. Whatever she said seemed to have convinced Angela because she goes to the case lawyers house and tells her not to contact her again and drop the case. Confused yet? Because I am.
  5. Elliot decides to try lucid dreaming so he can be the silent part in the relationship and see why Mr. Robot was so desperate to get back to the apartment. He watches Mr. Robot find a cypher a message on a menu that was delivered and decodes it to find out that there will be a cab waiting for him at a particular location. After following and losing Mr. Robot through a street market, he realises that they’re the same person and goes to the location and gets in the cab that’s waiting… and then Tyrell Wellick gets in with him. At this point he’s freaking out (and for good reason, this guy was meant to be DEAD) and the cab driver kicks the two of them out, where Tyrell tells Elliot that the Dark Army has Stage 2 ready and he should be pleased. Now are you confused? Because at this point, I just threw down my pen and gave up. How the hell is everything going to be sorted out in the one remaining episode?! Also, no mention of Cisco and Darlene – are they even alive? And what about Mobley and Trentin? Are they alive? WTFFFFFFFFF

Also, congrats must go to our very own Elliot Alderson, aka Rami Malek, for doing an absolutely smashing job this season, resulting in him winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series!

Lies.

Wassup people? This is my last few weeks of peace before all hell breaks loose and season of TV starts again. I’ll put up a list of premiere dates next week so you’re in the loop and don’t miss anything, but I will be taking a well earned break and going off on a Scandinavian adventure for a few weeks, so I won’t be posting for a few weeks. Why do I do this to myself?! Every year, I decide to take a holiday around September/ October/ November which means I get back and have like 100 episodes to catch up on, while simultaneously staying away from social media to avoid spoilers. You’d think I’d learn wouldn’t you? I lie to myself every time.

Vikings Season 4
Aaaaaaand we’re done 🙂 Well at least the first half of season 4, the second half is due to start sometime in the next few months and it looks to be amazing! So in this season, England kind of sticks to themselves, Ecbert and Judith are having an affair, Aethelwulf and Kwenthrith were having an affair, before Judith kills Kwenthrith and Ecbert becomes King of Mercia and Wessex, with the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok and Athelstan in his care. After Ragnar leaves Paris, Rollo betrays him again, marries Princess Gisla and has a happy life, all the while tell the Emperor how to fortify his city and protect it against future attacks. Along the way, a few of the French characters are killed, but who cares because Rollo trying to win over Gisla was the sweetest thing I have seen. Anyway, as usual, Ragnar has his issues, keeps trying to win Paris but loses to Rollo multiple times, all the while battling what can be only called a drug addiction after a Chinese slave gives him “chinese medicine”. Lagertha kills Earl Kalf and gets back her Earldom, all the while training women to fight and be strong. This half of the season ends a few years after Ragnar loses to Rollo, he’s returns to Kattegat after leaving unexpectedly, Bjorn plans to travel to the Meditteranean, his four other sons (Ubbe, Hvitserk, Sigurd and Ivar) hate him, Aslaug has been ruling as Queen and no one wants him to be king. Things can only get better for Ragnar but I feel he’s losing his charm and curiosity, I guess that comes with age? idk shrug front i dont know montage

Suits E09
Mike is finally out. You’d think after all the shit everyone has gone through and how deprived Rachel acts, Mike’s been gone for YEARS, but I’m pretty sure it’s a few weeks. EVERYONE JUST NEEDS TO CALM DOWN! Anyway, there’s no point in really going through the intricate details of the episode, so here are my top 5 “things that happened”:

  1. Mike managed to get Kevin out of jail and go be with his wife and kids.
  2. Mike stopped Gallow’s parole hearing by saying that he was threatened in prison.
  3. Mike filmed Gallow trying to kill him in prison and with Harvey, managed to get Gallow back to the maximum security prison he was initially in.
  4. Jessica gets a deal for Leonard to spend 5 more years in prison and then get out, but Rachel thinks they should reopen the case and fight for his innocence. Jessica manages to give Leonard the opportunity to meet his daughter again, making him think about what he wants to do with his own case.
  5.  Louis’ girlfriend rejects her boyfriends marriage proposal because of her feelings for Louis.

Anyway, there’s one more episode left till the mid-season break, and seeing as Mike’s out of prison, I’m hoping they carry on with Leonards’ case, because it is by far, waaaaaaay more interesting than the nonsense that has been going on between Harvey and Mike.

Mr. Robot E10
This week was a bit more entertaining, things are finally coming together in the FBI case when Dom gets a lead. The person that Cisco finds in the apartment was Vincent, one of the guys Darlene sends to DC and he convinces her to take him to the hospital, Meanwhile, the FBI get to the apartment fsociety was hiding in and manage to get a witness that can remember Cisco’s face, which leads to her boss putting out a BOLO for him, much to her protests. The FBI eventually make it to Cisco’s apartment and track him to the hospital where Darlene and him have taken Vincent and Dom scouts around and finally finds them in a diner a few blocks away, only to be interrupted and shot at by what could only be Dark Army operatives. As she had predicted and told her boss, the Dark Army doesn’t want any of their operatives in the feds hands because after injuring one of the shooters, he kills himself, just like Dom predicted. The episode ends there, leaving you wondering how Dark Army knew where Cisco was and what Dom is going to do after apprehending Darlene. The rest of the episode follows Elliot as ends up helping Joanna track down the phone “Tyrell” gave to her and then tries to figure out why and who is calling her. He also gets a call on the mobile and goes to answer it, but only hears breathing – and Mr. Robot disappears the minute he answers, which just adds ANOTHER layer to the mystery. He tracks down the phone and tells Joanna’s bodyguard/friend but he says something like “he shouldn’t be calling from there” but of course, we aren’t shown where that is because THE WRITERS ARE MEAN! Elliot is also getting messages from Angela, who he meets on the train and and says that she’s going to go with a lawyer to the FBI and confess to everything, leaving Elliot out of it. He realises the depth of what she’s doing and doesn’t stop her, but they share a lovely kiss together before he has to leave and she’s left with two strangers on the train (again, the writers were MEAN and didn’t show us who they were…). Anyway, there are only 2 more episodes left, both showing next week so I’m very very keen to see what going to happen now 🙂

Halt and Catch Fire E04
I love it when a character lies. It’s like the writers don’t realise that we know that this lie is the reason the partnership/business deal/relationship is going to end. Same thing happens this week, and it had my hands in my head because I was so frustrated. So basically, Swap Meet and Mutiny aren’t getting along. On one side, Gordon decides that a friendly game of laser tag will bring everyone together, and it works but things aren’t good for the others. Cameron hates Doug and Craig and they aren’t agreeing on a way to code both programs but ends up getting along with Craig, even suggesting that he did a solo venture without Doug. Eventually she asks Donna to ask Diane (the investor) if she can fire the boys and Donna asks Diane. Now being the smart woman she is, she says that although they are assets, it’s Mutiny she’s investing in and tells Donna that if they want to fire them, they can. But here’s the head shaking moment – when Cam asks Donna, she says that Diane said not to fire them. And that will be the end of the amazing Donna/Cameron-taking-on-the-world saga. Meanwhile, Gordon is getting nausea and tremours now, caused by his brain damage and Bosworth meets Joe at a party he attends with Diane. Now to Joe. He loses a MAJOR client, General Atomics, but before they revoke his security clearance, he asks Ryan to map out ARPANET – a network involved in the electronic packet sharing with the Department of Defense. Joe MacMillan is just so god damn smooth and such a visionary, you forget what he did to Cameron, Gordon and Donna.

I’m not a fan of waiting.

Hola amigos – I don’t really have anything to say this week, so let’s just get cracka-lackin’ 🙂

Mr. Robot E09
There were so many unanswered questions this episode left, I was so dissatisfied (but it was still a good episode, I’m just frustrated with the large number of cliffhangers). We finally find out why Elliot was in prison – the man he stole his dog from at the beginning of season 1 has him arrested for theft, grand larceny and computer hacking, but he pleads guilty, accepting 18 months in county jail. There, he meets Leon and Ray but is released after 86 days, with the guard saying that it was a hack and a number of non-violent criminals were released. Once Elliot was released, Darlene catches him up on everything, he visits his mum and then they decide to hack into Xun’s phone (Cisco’s Dark Army contact). As well as trying to track down Trentin and Mobley, Elliot demands that the White Rose tell him what Stage 2 is, but Darlene overhears Xun and White Rose talking, and discussing how Stage 2 was Elliot’s idea (cliffhanger number 1).
angry mad hermione pissed evil eyeThere’s then a knocking on the apartment door and Darlene opens it (cliffhanger 2).
angry mad hermione pissed evil eyeMeanwhile, Cisco goes back to the ECorp Counsel’s apartment to retrieve one of fsocieties faulty tapes and hears someone gurgling/gasping behind the couch (cliffhanger 3). angry mad hermione pissed evil eye In the middle of all of this, Elliot has some sort of “out of body experience” where he watches Mr. Robot interact with everyone and then they morph into one again and he feels normal – Mr. Robot knows something’s wrong and they’re “overheating”, but this is so not good. The CEO of ECorp threatens Zhang/ White Rose about their plans and tells him the Chinese Government should make a donation to ECorp and bail them out, so that he can stop and save the plant, rather than it falling into the Federal Governments hands. Angela is still weird, hacks into Ecorp, gives files on the toxicity levels of the Flint Water Contamination case to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission but gets in an awkward situation with the Deputy Director and Agent DiPierro after (question – does this water contamination case have anything to do with the Dark Army’s plan with the mentioned plant?). And the episode ends with Elliot outside his apartment building, and Joanna in an SUV, calling him Ollie.
angry mad hermione pissed evil eyeIt’s all so weird, here I was thinking that these last few episodes would clear things up but I was clearly wrong! I basically spent the whole episode looking like Hermione.

Suits E08
Oh god, it’s almost over (why am I still watching this show?!) Mike is free – well at least we think so, who knows what they’re going to pull in the last episode before their mid-season break. Through some more manipulation and games, Harvey manages to prove that although Cahill has a witness to the insider trading, the witness gave all the information to Jill and therefore there is no link to William Sutter himself. But after trying to convince William to take a deal to save Jill (which he refuses), Harvey records the conversation and makes Kevin and Jill hear it, convincing her to take a deal to keep her out of jail and put her father in. Mike represents her (as Harvey is already representing her father and husband) and Cahill finally gets his evidence to lock up William – and release Mike. Mike tells Kevin the truth about everything and they end on happy terms, and Gallow has nothing to hold over his head.
Meanwhile, Louis is dealing with the fact that the woman he loves is still committed to another man (no one cares about this but he doesn’t have a story right now so the writers are just shoving this in). Also, Rachel and Jessica manage to get a 30 day extension on Leonard’s execution date, asking his aunt to sign a document stating she isn’t physically able to see him for the next month due to her MS and needs more time to say bye, unfortunately, she still thinks he’s guilty and this is helping anyone. Things are getting wrapped up and with 2 more episodes to go, I’d like to see what the writers decide to do next.

Halt and Catch Fire E03
Not too much happens in this weeks episode, but we do get to see Bad-Ass Bosworth again, so that’s a plus. Donna invites Gordon to the weekly meetings with Cameron and Bosworth but realises that it’s kinda hard keeping issues apart when everyone is working and living together in the same locations. Of course, it all ends fine, they continue disagreeing but Gordon does apologies for his lack of understanding for a moment and then everything is good. We find out that MacMillan Utilities Board of Directors plans to start charging their users $14.95 for the antivirus protection 2.0, something that he had advertised to be free, much to the disappointment of Ryan. But he comes to his senses eventually and tells Ryan that if they’re to keep the software free, they’re going to have to come up with another source of income – and Ryan is thrilled. Cameron and Joe also run into each other at a college where Cam is giving a lecture and Joe is studying coding, though she doesn’t believe him at all. But here was the best past of the episode – Bosworth and Diane (the banker investing in Swap Meet’s buyout) go to Swap Meet with a $600k offer, but after visiting the office they realise that it wasn’t worth that much and the office was barely full of employees, and Bosworth tears up the original offer and gives them close to $325k, much to the delight of Diane who was very impressed. tv halt and catch fire hacfedit mackenzie davis cameron howeI think she was very apprehensive of him delivering the deal rather than the two women but after seeing him in action, she realised his value and agree with the decision. Hoorah for Mutiny!

Vikings Season 3
Oh wow, season 3 got better! This season, Ragnar has become King Ragnar after killing King Horik and comes to an arrangement with King Ecbert. We see the first settlement of Northmen in Wessex while they assist Ecbert’s army regain Princess Kwenrith’s crown in Mercia. Now of course, once Ragnar returns to Kattegat, he realises that this is not enough so he plans to invade Frankia and Paris and after several failed attempts, he manages too. But we end the season with Ragnar dying and departing for Kattegat, leaving a small force of men with Rollo to keep a presence in Paris. And of course, Rollo, being the betraying and ambitious man he’s always been, takes up the opportunity to marry Princess Gisla from Paris and become a Duke, in exchange for fighting against Ragnar when he comes back – if he comes back. It must have been the season for budget cuts as well because two of the main characters – Siggy and Athelstan – were both killed off, and to be honest, I was pretty shocked! And I’m really glad I started watching the show, I’ve been finding myself researching the Viking Age on Wikipedia and I’m so engrossed. It appears that Ragnar himself could be a legend however, Rollo, Bjorn and all his sons are all well known vikings, suggesting that the writers have used Ragnar has a started for all the stories of their stories. It really is amazing to read, highly recommend it! vikings
