Daredevil

So this week was the finale of the first season on Here Come the Habib’s (only 6 episodes, sob šŸ˜¦ ) but the minute the kind lady in the TV box says “Stay tuned on Channel 9 for Here Come the Habib’s when they return for Season 2 next year”, my mum turned to me and when “WHAT?! I’m expected to wait that long for the next episode?” I think she’s finally beginning to understand my pain.smile creepy heart sneaky

Daredevil Season 02
So the highly anticipated of Season 2 of Daredevil was released on Netflix on the 18th, which meant that I spent all of the 20th binge watching it, and man, it was worth it. happy excited applause clapping thrilledI’m not going to give anything away, I promise, because I know that a lot of people still haven’t finished because they have self control and a life, so I’ll keep it to what we already know about the season. Matt, Karen and Foggy are busy with Nelson & Murdock, and Matt is busy being Daredevil at night and Hell’s Kitchen is about as safe as it’s going to get with Wilson Fisk behind bars. Except in comes Frank Castle aka. The Punisher, and tbh, I don’t really know if is a clear cut villain or hero and credit must go to Jon Bernthal for portraying his character amazingly. They have given us a “villain” that still has a moral compass andĀ makes you think about what you’re actions would be if you were in his situation. We also get introduced to Elektra Natchios, an old girlfriend and crazy-psycho-martial arts killer that got trained by Stick for The War. Going into the details of that story line would take too long, but we get a glimpse at what Matt’s past life was like, and his relationship with someone who believes that she has a right to end someone’s life, when he doesn’t.

In comparison to season 1, I think it was pretty much up there. I’ll be honest, the last 4 episodes were very dark and serious, and this season did have a lot more violent fighting sequences involving blood spatter and some truly gruesome torture scenes. But despite my squirminess, I do realise that it is a darker show and they need to show that these things do happen because not every superhero story is about aliens being defeated by Norse Gods and men in metal suits.Ā Wilson FiskĀ and Claire Temple make a return, as do the Yakuza, and I was very happy to see Karen Page be shown as a passionate, caring, and opinionated young woman rather than just their Legal Advisor and Secretary. In fact, at points of this season, I found myself pleading with Matt to get his shit together and really rooting for Karen and perseverance with all their cases. All in all, 9/10 for me, can’t wait for the next season (though we have no idea when that will be! šŸ˜¦ )

Quantico E13
Wow, for episode number 13, they really pulled out all the stops. This one was a little easier to explain so let’s start with the flashback šŸ™‚ The NAT’s are all getting along and the task for this week is to sort people out into personality types and then the challenge at the end is to try and get a civilian to become an informant for the FBI without turning the NATs into bargaining chips ie. The NATs have to get the informant to call the FBI to volunteer without saying they’ll help them with their DUIs and immigration papers. While this is going on,Ā Nimah knows Raina is up to something and starts spying on her, Caleb and Shelby are trying to get to the bottom of her kidnapped fake sister (who is fact living it up and conned Shelby again), Alex and Drew (the new kid) are getting close and we learn about his backstory, the nerd dude (Will Olsen) has some weird checklist thing at the bottom of his drawer and he crosses Nimah off this list after chatting to her in the episode :/ Also, Vasquez is getting sued by her ex for the sole custody of their daughter, so Miranda gives her leave to go and be with and fight for her daughter without worrying about her career (how nice!).

Back in the present, Alex goes to work the next day and finds out that Booth’s ex wife is her new boss and she’s been moved to Operations with the lowest clearance level. The terrorist groups make contact with her, saying that if she and Vasquez don’t get a particular file for them, Vasquez will go boom, so they work together to get clearance from the Booth’s and attached a worm to the file when they send it to the terrorist. The email is opened at an abandoned warehouse, so the two of them go to investigate, where the terrorists call Alex to outside the building and then proceed to blow up the laptop – killing Vasquez instantly!Ā upset super bowl richard sherman super bowl 49 heart breakAt this point, the my screen went black and I was forced to look at my shocked face staring back at me, I literally could not believe it! Alex just freaks out at this point and runs to Booths apartment in hysterics, only to receive pictures of her in his arms, which means that they’re constantly watching her as she puts all of her friends in harms way. Holy moly, she is in a bit of a pickle, and going crazy. I’m a little worried, not gonna lie.

Once Upon a Time E13
He was a nothin’, A zero, Now he’s a honcho,Ā He’s a hero – It’s hunky Hercules! Well maybe not hunky per se, but cute Herc, who befriends Baby Snow (that’s my name for young Princess Snow White) and helps her defeat a bandit who’s being controlled by Evil Queen Regina. We learn that Herc has finished 11 of his 12 tasks to become an immortal in Olympus and only has to defeat the Hell Hound, Cerberus, to go up to meet his parents. He helps Snow believe in herself and it’s a cute two-day crush, let’s be honest, I don’t blame Baby Snow – he is Hercules after all. Back in the present, and Hook saves Meg from Cerberus and Hades, and she runs into Emma. We find out that Herc is actually in the Underworld (cue Jealous Charming) so Snow asks for his help in killing Cerberus.Ā She finds out thatĀ that not long after they parted ways, Herc dies trying to save Meg and kill Cerberus and is totally not the macho confident boy she remembers. Of course, she gives a lovely, empowering speech to him, and together with Meg, they kill the beast, fulfilling his quest and allowing him and Meg to finally go to Olympus (aw cute!). The group now know that Hades has Hook and have a map to rescue him – go team go! Two interesting points to make: Baby Snow acts incredibly well in terms of the way she talks, matching adult Snow every well and the scene with Snow and Regina is beautiful, all the feels!

How to Get Away with Murder E15 Finale
Wow what a finale to season 2! In the flashbacks, we see Frank’s one night stand offer him a heap of money to go and put a bug in Annalise’s room. Obviously, he accepts, places the bug and the lawyer (or whoever she is) hears about Annalise leaving to go tell the judge about Mahoney raping Rose. She calls Mahoney, he tells her to “take care of it” and Annalise is hurt in the car crash. Frank comes to the hospital and runs into Sam who tells him about the baby and Frank tells him what he did, and basically Sam tells him not to Annalise, and that Frank owes him Ā – which ends up being Frank killing Layla for Sam. Back in the present, Annalise has run away to her mothers house where we meet her siblings and her father, the man that used to beat her mother and then left the family, but has now returned to be with his wife. Nate comes for a visit to tell her that the DA has issued a warrant for her arrest thanks to Caleb being a bitch and telling the police everything, and Annalise reveals to her mother thatĀ she was pregnant but lost the baby years ago.

Now, as usual, the end of the episode is where all the goss happens, so if you don’t want to read it, skip down to the next paragraph, somewhere after a gif of April Ludgate.Ā So when Annalise is attacked by Philip, he reveals that he did nothing and has proof that it was Caleb that killed the Hapstall parents and Philip’s mother, leaving the blame on Catherine so that he could have all the inheritance. Catherine reveals that the she is in love with Caleb, and they had a relationship (not as “passionate” as CerseiĀ and Jaime) but still equally incestuous, and she took the blame for him knowing he did it. Nek minnit, the news breaks and we see a TV blaring in a hotel room – and Caleb Hapstall sitting in a bathtub, wrists slit :/ Meanwhile, Wes travels to New York and confronts Mahoney, only to have him shot in the face, right in front of him!
reaction shocked aubrey plaza april ludgate blank stare
Holy shit what?! Why is it that half the characters killed on the show are in front of Wes, can someone please give him a break???? Anyway, it was a great end to the season and Shonda Rhimes better make sure that next season is filled with the same amazingness that has been occurring for the last two years.

Agents of SHIELD E12
This week was filled with a lot of “Aw he’s a good guy, not wait, backstabbing bad guy, oh wait not he’s not, oh yep yep he is”. Drove me a little crazy, not gonna lie. So there is a conference of sorts occurring between nations to discuss the Inhumans, so on the Presidents behalf, Talbot and Coulson go in, hoping to discover if one of the delegates is an inside man, giving Mallick information on Inhumans. Instead, Talbot backstabs Coulson, revealing him to the delegates, and Mallick walksĀ saying that Coulson is part of Hydra and is out to destroy everyone. At this point, you’re going “Ok, Talbot is a dick” but thenĀ Bobbi, Hunter and May find Talbots’ son in one of the ATCU stasis casesĀ and you realise that Talbot is being blackmailed and his son was kidnapped by Mallick. In the end, the team escapes with the son safe and Bobbi and Hunter are in Mallick’s jet flying off to somewhere. Meanwhile, back at the base, Fitz, Simmons and Lincoln discover that Creel (the Inhuman that can change into any material once he touches it) has something in his blood that could cure people before theyĀ undergo terragenesis and become Inhumans :/ Now the interesting part is when we get back to Ward/Hive story, it appears that Hive can release this mist thingy that absorbs humans andĀ restores Ward to his former healthy body, maybe it’s their life force? Who knows. It was kind of weird and creepy, but hey, whatever the weird alien thing needs to get better, Mallick and his henchmen will provide.reactions ew disgusted do not want dakota fanning

Those that I didn’t mention: NCIS: LA E18Ā (Anna and Arkaedy Kolcheck are backĀ and Sam finds out that G likesĀ Anna), Scorpion E19Ā (Walter saves a little girl),Ā New Girl E11 (Cece moves out of her apartment and Jess has a nasty boss),Ā NCIS E18 (Damn Gibbs feels are back again)

Have a good week lovelies!

Marvel Universe Crossover and a Prison Break!

Wassup guys?! Welcome to another week of my TV adventures, where I try and avoid all social commitments so that I can sit in my pjs, eat copious amounts of chocolate and forget Ā the time a waiter gave my my lunch and said “Enjoy!” and I said “You too!” with a huge grin on my face.

Daredevil Season 1
Oh my god, what a fantastic show! And Iā€™m not just saying it because Iā€™m a sucker for Marvel shows; Iā€™m saying this because I actually genuinely thought it was a brilliant show. I hadnā€™t seen the movie or known anything about it but I had heard good things about it, so I gave it a go and man, it was worth it. The show follows Matthew Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer living in Hellā€™s Kitchen, Manhattan who owns his own law firm with his best friend Franklin ā€œFoggyā€ Nelson (Elden Henson) and are joined by Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) after she is involved in a cover up at her firm. Little do they know that after his accident that took his sight when he was 9, he was trained in order to use his other senses to let him ā€œseeā€ and he goes out at night to try and save his city ā€“ becoming known as the guy in the black mask or the Devil in Hellā€™s Kitchen. The villain for this season is Wilson Fisk (Vincent Dā€™Onofrio) and I guess heā€™s acted really well because you really come to despised his psychotic character, despite what happened in his past.Ā  Anyway, I donā€™t want to get into the plot too much, but just know that it is written superbly, with interesting characters, coupled with the odd bit of humour and lots of dark moments. Special mention has to go to the action team, the choreographers and stuntmen. For a TV show, there is a huge amount of time spent into creating the most amazing action sequences Iā€™ve seen on the small screen and the whole action production team deserve all the awards. My favourite scene has to be at the end of episode 2, the entire shot is taken without cutting to another camera and is in a narrow corridor with beautiful lighting and tbh, I donā€™t think there are many movies that can do it as well as they did. The show is on Netflix and season 2 in premiering on March 18th, and I highly recommend watching season 1 in time for the next season. Truly amazing, all the thumbs up!

thumbs up

Agent Carter E06 and E07
This week was another double episode and next week will be too, so make sure you stay on track! Things are got very interesting ā€“ the team realises that they need some zero matter to anchor Dr. Wilkes in this physical state so they devise a plan to get some of Whitneyā€™s blood at a charity function. However, Peggy is still hurt and they know Sousa, so they decide to get kidnap Dottie from her cell at the SSR and use her. Of course, things go wrong, Whitney kills half of the council, including her husband and kidnaps the already kidnapped Dottie who sees her kill everyone. Thankfully, Peggy is able to get Whitneyā€™s blood, but not before Masters (FBI guy) tells Jack that Peggy needs to be ā€œtaken care ofā€ because of her insubordination. Oh and Sousa and Peggy have a ā€œmomentā€ and almost kissed, and when they didnā€™t, I may have shouted at my laptop :/

NO

In episode 7, Masters tries to torture Dottie to get information on Peggy but you know what? Dottie is just so damn cool. Look I get it, sheā€™s a crazy, Russian killing machine, but damn, she faces torture like itā€™s a walk in the park. Of course sheā€™s been trained for this, but still, thereā€™s only so often you see a character tell the torturer that sheā€™s done worse to herself while smiling sweetly. Anyway, in comes Whitney and uses the zero matter in her to torture and get the information she needed. Meanwhile, Wilkes designs a containment chamber from him, gets injected with the zero matter, becomes whole again and kisses Peggy. One point to the director for cutting to a shot of the Jarvisā€™s and both of their reactions to the kiss, it was a interesting touch ā€“ the curiosity of a woman and the politeness of a man who has been taught to show discretion and turn a blind eye to certain practices. Anyway, Whitney sets a trap for Peggy and Jarvis using Dottie as bait, however turns out its actually a ploy to get Wilkes on his own to and kidnap him so that they can use their powers together and see what they can do together. But while sheā€™s escaping, she shoots Anna in the stomach just as Jarvis arrives back, and in the scenes after, you really see him struggle with the thought that it was his adventures that out his wifeā€™s life in danger. For this episode, I think that they focus was Peggy and Jarvis, you get to watch him be a good friend and talk to her about his sudden love triangle, and at the end, Peggy sits with him in the hospital, offering him her friendship and support. I am truly going to be sad when this show ends.

Now Iā€™m putting this at the end of this section because I noticed some interesting details about both Marvel shows, and the genius that goes on linking the stories together. Firstly, in Daredevil, they make reference to a Roxxon Corporation in a case Matt and Foggy are working on, which turns out, is the same company Peggy steals the uranium rods from in episode 5! And another thing, I was watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and there is a scene where Peggy talks about her husband and family, and it made me realise that we just may be able to see who she ends up marrying in Agent Carter. Man, the more I get into these shows and movies, the more hooked I get!

Castle E10 and E11
Before you say anything, yes it was a double episode so if you havenā€™t watched both of them yet, stop reading, go watch them and but then come back! ā€¦ Ok, youā€™ve watched them? Good. Episode 10 showed Castle witnessing a murder 5 months ago and being called on as a witness for the prosecution, only to realise that he didnā€™t actually see the murderer. An interesting series events means that the defence lawyer on the case is actually someone that is involved in Beckettā€™s investigation of Loksat and she has to try and work with him while knowing heā€™s involved in something much more sinister. Episode 11 is a bit more light-hearted, Castle and Becket get involved with the Russian embassy, an over enthusiastic Nicki Heat fan and Russian Cold War spies, itā€™s all very James Bond J Castle also finally meets his step-mother and realises that although his father might not always be there, he does love and care about him.

Supernatural E14
So weā€™re back to the main issue of the season and the brothers discover that there are objects in the world that have been ā€œtouched by Godā€ and might hold the power to killing Amara. They find out that an object like that did exist but it disappeared on a submarine back in World War II so they see if ā€œCastielā€ can take them back in time to get the object before it disappears. Anyway, Dean goes back in time, finds the object but has to use it to get back to the present time, and when he returns, him and Sam discover that ā€œCastielā€ is actually Lucifer. Time to see how this plays out…

The 100 E05
Not much happened this week on The 100, I guess they can’t really have super interesting episodes all the time. Firstly, Pike, Bellamy and their Grounder-hating posse go off and slaughter Indra’s crew of good Grounders and Lexa and Clarke find her left alive just to tell them that the Grounders are not welcome. Clarke manages to get into Arcadia to talk to Bellamy but he’s acts like a backstabbing ass and so she has to run away, with Octavia and Marcus Kane helping. Meanwhile, Lexa says that “blood will not have blood” and Jaha finds Arcadia to try and get people to come to the City of the Lights and to me, it sounds a lot like committing suicide and going to “heaven”. Anyway, the main scene that stuck with me was Pike talking to Arcadia and saying something on the lines of “We own the ground and we’re staying and the others are not welcome and they have no say”. Sounds A LOT like what people used to say when they invaded a country and ignored the indigenous people there (eg. Australia, America, Canada) – are the writers trying to make the audience think about these things, or is it just me?

How to Get Away with Murder E11
I feel like this episode was all about confessions because everyone started telling everyone everything, and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In the present, Wes gets put in the psych ward of hospital after he tells his doctor that he might just kill himself if she didn’t give him some sleeping pills. So she forces him to talk to her and he talks about his mothers suicide. Meanwhile, the rest of the Keating 5 are involved in a very interesting case about a mother who is appealing to have her son’s murderer have a shorter sentence and Charlie reveals to Laurel that he killed Lila. The Keating 4 leave Annalise when they realise she knows about Wes in the hospital and hasn’t done anything about it, and the 5 students then have a little heart to heart in the car – one of the few times that they do, and it was nice to see them all talk a bit (in the middle of snide comments and lame jokes of course). In the flashbacks, we see Charlie and Bonnie as part of pregnant Keatings 5, and we find out out that Annalise has been meeting with Christophe and Rose (Wes and his mum). Now the interesting part comes when Annalise gives Rose a file with documents about the murder of a hedge-fund heir and leaves us with the question – how the hell is Rose involved, and is this case the reason she killed herself?!

confused kristen wiig meh maybe

Anyway, the episode ends on two cliffhangers – 1. Connor received a video from someone (Philip Jesup?!) from the night Annalise was shot and 2. Annalise leaves the stack of mysterious files at Wes’ apartment … WHAT IS GOING ON???????

The Flash E14
This week on The Flash: on Earth-2, Barry-2 and Iris-2 help Cisco and Harry find Killer Frost and get her to help them rescue Barry-1 and Jesse. Barry and Jesse try to interpret what the other prisoner is say and get the word “JAY” from him. Meanwhile on Earth-1, Jay takes Velocity 9 which helps him, Iris and Caitlin catch Geoman, and find out that the drug is actually help cure him. Then, along with Joe, the four of them manage to fix the broken breach stabilizers, and the Earth-2 team escape Zoom’s lair only to have Zoom reach through and pull Jay back to Earth-2. Now I understand that if you don’t watch The Flash, that paragraph makes absolutely NO SENSE what-so-ever, so just have faith that once you do start watching (or catch up), it’ll make sooooooo much more sense. I have so many theories of who Zoom is at the moment, that I don’t know which one to follow: Wally West, Jay, some weird time/world mash up of Barry or Harrison Wells – who knows! Anything is possible!

Arrow E14
This week, the team faces the Demolition Team, a team in HIVE that blows up buildings in order to kill people. Oh did I mention that they use hammers and nail-guns as their weapons of choice? Oh yea, the nail-gun chick is vicious and crazy AF. Anyway, Ollie is up against RuvĆ©Ā (aka, Darhk’s evil wife) in the Mayoral Debate and wins (HOORAH!), Momma Smoak plans Olicity’s engagement party, Curtis Holt gives them the most amazing wedding present ever and, oh did I forget to mention? DAMIAN DARHK HAS OLLIE’S SON! We have no idea how or what happened, but he has William in his house and introduces him to his daughter – Where is his mother???!!!!!!!

Legends of Tomorrow E05

Before I say anything more, it must be noted that Snart makes the BEST comment about prison “This isn’t my first prison break”. GEDDIT!? Wentworth Miller was on Prison Break – there was literally an entire show made about him getting his brother out of jail. Best line ever, I would have switched off my TV happily at the end of that, but I kept going. Let’s keep it short and sweet: Stein gets tortured into tell evil Russian scientist the formula for Firestorm (but she doesn’t know he’s part of Firestorm), Ray gets beat up for Rory and they become besties, Snart and Sara go in to rescue the three from a Russian gulag – Snart wants to save Rory and Rip tells Sara to kill Stein if necessary so Savage doesn’t learn to make Firestorm. Of course in the end, everything works out, evil Russian lady tries to join with Stein to become Firestorm and kills herself and Sara doesn’t kill Stein – Team work for the win! Oh but wait – Ā their Tardis (I can’t remember the name) gets damaged thanks to Bobba Fett (I can’t remember his name either šŸ˜‰ ) and they end up in Star City 2047. With a different Green Arrow. Da Fuq?! Can someone also please explain to me how two men can have a full on fight in their towels but i cant walk 7m to my bedroom without something popping out?!

New Girl E07 (Nick, Cece and Schmidt think that Reagan is a criminal and I found myself missingĀ Jess),Ā NCIS E15 (SecNavā€™s daughter gets kidnapped and Fornell from the FBI comes into assist),Ā Suits E14 (Mike and Harvey fight to be Mike’s lawyer, and the prosecutor Gibbs uses Trevor and Donna against Mike’s case),Ā The Big Bang Theory E16Ā (The group finds out about Bernie’s pregnancy and Sheldon gets drunk šŸ™‚ )

Have a good week maties!
